More about the hotel
Maybe for a few nights - not for a longer stay
First things first: this hotel is a cheap-ish option in a great location. Walking distance from a lot of interesting sites and super close to shopping streets, restaurants and bars. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Like 9 out of 10 hotels in Buenos Aires, the rooms are old. This is NOT unusual in this city so I'm not saying this as a specific critique to this hotel, but expect moldy walls, peeling paint from ceiling, broken door handles etc. Bed is comfortable enough and clean enough and bathroom is functional. My biggest peeve was the wifi that was non-existent in our room (and not just our room, pretty much all guests just gathered in the lobby area to be able to connect). It's actually a bit hilarious that they give you a wifi password and instructions when you check in but we could not connect at all during the length of our stay (4 nights). Also the breakfast is just plain sad. Cold food (there are zero options of hot food for breakfast), slim options and cutlery was dirty... So yeah overall, good option for a few nights but for a lengthier stay I'd recommend one find another option nearby. Tip #1: bring your own shampoo and soap from home or buy better options in drugstores nearby. The hotel amenities are disappointing. Tip #2: there are no safes inside the rooms. They say they offer safes in the reception but I didn't see it/didn't use it.
Buenos Aires Argentina
Horrible, dirty, disgusting!!! Literally grabbed our bags and went across the street, and thank Goodness the Principado Hotel had rooms available that were gorgeous, CLEAN, and air conditioned. The Gran Orley was very old, dingy, absolutely dirty. My family and I could not get over how horrible the conditions of the rooms were, we had three total. For two dollars more we stayed at the Principado, what a beautiful experience.
It is a decent hotel for a decent price. Nothing more , nothing less. Excellent location.
Overall, it is ok. It is affordable, and excellent location. You get basic juice and milk, bread and croissants for breakfast. Wifi in the lobby. If you are picky person, and want to examine paint peels, and anything you can find wrong , please stay somewhere else. But, if you are wanting to reasonable cost hotel for a few days, here you are.
Great for the price
Most of the rooms are new, so the accommodations are usually pretty good. The best is the localization, really close to everywhere and only two blocks from the Calle Florida. The breakfast is simple but ok and the staff is great, specially Maria, from de fourth floor!
Good for price
The hotel is old, but it's worthful for price and location, very close to Pacificio and Calle Florida. But the breakfast is terrible. There is a nice and reasonable restaurant in front of the hotel, called El Establo. I truly reccomend it!
