An oasis in the middle of Buenos Aires

Reviewed 16 january, 2022

This hotel is well located in the middle of Recoleta, but does not feel like it is in the middle of the city because of the extensive gardens and nearby park. The interior is beautifully decorated living up to the palace in the name, but the best part is the excellent customer service. The staff are exceptionally courteous, attentive, and helpful. It might cost more than some other hotels in Buenos Aires, but it is worth it!!

For me...the best hotel in Buenos Aires

I lamented over chasing the Palacio Duhau instead of the Alvear Palace or Four Seasons. They were all neck and neck in terms of luxury and experience but something about the Palacio Duhau, I just couldn't shake. So I stayed with my gut and came to the hotel. I made the right choice. More authentic than the Four Seasons and less chaotic and touristy than the Alvear Palace, it was the perfect blend of history and modern. You simply can't beat the gorgeous garden area and terraced dining available at the Palacio. Every staff member was a delight to encounter, food and beverage excellent and the condition of the property was excellent. All of the modern conveniences mixed with old world opulence make it a "must stay" property for me. I will enthusiastically return!

Beautiful setting, very well maintained, very classy atmosphere! It’s truly an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city. Staff very attentive, very professional, very courteous. Overall a memorable experience. Spent New Year’s Eve there and the celebration they organized was absolutely impressive. Just wish they were closer to Chicago! But we will return.

Two Stays.......Two Completely Different Experiences

During a recent vacation to Argentina during the Holidays, I had the privilege of staying at the Palacio Duhau twice - for three days to start the trip and for one final night before flying back to the United States. Initial Stay (5 stars):

We stayed in the 1930's building with about 20 rooms and I highly recommend the experience at whatever cost is. It is a mix of historical and modern. From the electronic light proof shades to the multitude of USB outlets and to the wonderful air conditioning (the city was in the midst of a terrible heatwave in the high thirties), the room that we had was exquisite. The décor, the furnishings the flooring-It was one of the larger rooms but simply fantastic. Every detail was amazing. The hotel garden grounds were fantastic and the patios for breakfast lunch or dinner outstanding. The food was marvellous (except for one meal in the upstairs restaurant). The meal we had in the carne restaurant was simply out of this world. One of the best rib steaks I have ever had. The buffet breakfasts were superb. Every common area room was unique and full of character and history but totally mom modernized and beautiful. The perv but the best was the level of service from every single person in the hotel from the housemaids to the front desk to the senior managers. Karolina, the hostess for the morning breakfas,t to the various waiters such as Lucas and others were simply phenomenal. Also, I was very impressed with the attention to Covid 19 protection such as masking etc. Very admirable in these very challenging times. The 3 days in this hotel were extremely memorable. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
