We went to this chambres d’hôtes between for the night between 4 and 5 January. We are disappointed. The owners are not friendly at all. Besides you can see with pictures the toilets were not cleaned. The quantity of juice in breakfast is so cheap !! Place for shower gel and shampoing but nothing inside !!!!! Desert during dinner so little !! Furniture broken inside room !When we arrived in the room it was freezing !!!! The owners must have putted the heating way before this!!!! Besides the lady owner is charging soook much for extra drinks .... we paid 20.5 euros for cheminée fire 2 littles oranges juices one tea and 1 coffee. My husband and I willl never come back to this place ! Shame !!!!
Charming quiet location!

Great overnight stay on way from/to Channel Tunnel. Charming rustic farm complete with duck pond, views over fields & bedrooms in converted barn. Very welcoming hosts who provided a very enjoyable evening meal complete with a local aperitif. Will certainly return next time we are travelling in France

This is a lovely rustic property in the middle of Normandy. Unfortunately the hosts do not live up to the splendour of their setting. I stayed one night while cycling the avenue verte with two friends (at a cost of over 300 Euros) and then with one friend a couple of days later (at a cost of over 200 euros). The first time I was there I accidentally let the heater in the bathroom fall to the floor. I told Madame when I paid the bill the first time. When we left on our second night, I paid the bill to Madame and Monsieur came out and very rudely started berating me about the heater. He was very angry and told me that he had had to call in a plumber at a cost of 40 Euros. He was so angry that I asked him if he wanted me to pay. He said yes, then he said 20 Euros. To get away I just gave them 40 Euros and left. This incident left me upset and distressed. I would not return to this chambre d'hote and would not recommend it.
Charming rustic farmhouse with less than charming hosts

Au Mesnil Le Bas Bray is a picture-perfect converted French farmhouse in an idyllic rustic setting which oozes delightful charm from every orifice. Sadly, the owners fall well short when it comes to matching this with friendliness and attention to detail which lead to a slightly disappointing experience given the beauty of the accommodation. The pros - Location, setting, charming breakfast room, charming rooms, charming farmhouse, lake, animals. you get the picture. €80 for a triple room is good value. On visual elements alone, the place is an 11/10. Nice breakfast in a very pleasant dining room. Cons- Indifferent welcome, lack of friendliness from owner. Kitchen despite advertised as for self catering is very small and poorly equipped. We struggled to make a modest meal for 3 people. Bizarre decor - a series of dead and dying trees and plat pots occupy the communal area. The fact that Normandy boating magazines from 1993 are still out on display suggests no one has given this space a tidy up or any attention for a very long time. The beds were very uncomfortable. My small double upstairs in the Norveggiene suite was saggy to the point of it being virtually impossible to sleep in. The towels smelt damp and smelt old.

Firstly a stunning location and lovely hosts. The hotel is not far from Dieppe and near the London to Paris cycle route. The room was well laid out and spotless. The grounds were also well laid out and and unhurried. Breakfast was served in the main farm house again did not disappoint. Overall a fantastic stay.
