Maybe I'm not grading on a curve. While the hotel and room were certainly clean and a decent value, I felt that the room was simply average. The staff were nice enough. While I would definitely stay here again, there was simply nothing special about our stay.

JOHN SAVED THE DAY

Traveling from Kansas City to Denver we were forced to exit in Burlington due to inclement weather. The interstate was shut down and people were being forced to find accommodations last minute. After trying our luck at The Fairfield Inn across the street we moved to the Econo Lodge. The power was out and the lobby was packed full of guests waiting to be checked it. John was our hero. He manually checked in every guests, which I can only imagine was 100+ rooms. He was calm, gracious and very professional. Calling every guest by their last name and thanking them for their patience. Due to the complications of the power outage John stayed organized and efficient. He answered everyone's questions and helped guests feel heard in this stressful situation. I have worked in hotels for 10+ years and I was so impressed by John's demeanor and organization. It is hard to stay calm in these kind of scenarios and he did so while continuing to engage with each of his guests and make them feel taken care of. The next morning we were still without power. (the backup generator keeps the heat and emergency lighting on) John was still at the desk (in a different crisp, clean and professional shirt) assisting with breakfast and checking out guests. I was truly impressed by John and his commitment to his job and the level of service he provided in truly a time of stress and chaos. Your hotel has a very valuable associate! The room itself was very basic which is in line with Econo Lodges pricing. My only suggestion is to offer more than two pillows on the queen bed and potentially higher quality duvet/comforter.

Bare bones hotel

We arrived a day early with a pre-paid booking. The clerk was nice enough to change our reservation to accommodate us. Lots of oil workers, no carpet in the hallways, no lamps, just overhead lights, $2.75 to dry a blouse in the dryer, limited breakfast items. But you can't argue with the price. Very reasonable.

Great place to stay

The building and rooms are keep up very good. The staff is very friendly and answers what ever questions s they can. The breakfast does not have anything hot. It is cereal, bread, donuts, and fruit. They could easily add waffle maker without having to spend much extra money. Our room had a regular refrigerator, micro wave, queen bed, kitchen sink, and a stove top. They also have a Hugh laundry room to wash and dry your own clothes. I was going to watch the tv in the parlor when I woke up early morning but there is no power to that tv.

GREAT two-night stay. Can't rate the continental breakfast because my workday starts at 4am (before "breakfast hours") but a full sized refrigerator and microwave enabled me to create my own. Didn't use the stove top. VERY clean and VERY comfortable (and quiet) room = a stay to remember for all the right reasons!!! I WILL be back!!!!
