The more and more we looked around after settling in, the worse it got and was even more startling in the daylight. From the building key card security doors that wouldn't latch to the nastiest room chair imaginable and everything in between. Total lack of maintenance, rusty bathroom fixtures, sink handle almost inoperable - we were surprised it held, large wedges sticking out from under toilet to keep it level, one bathroom light out (probably just as well - darker was probably better in this situation), stained lampshades, remote held together with duct tape, the nastiest floor to ceiling windows - didn't look like the windows had been cleaned in a year on the inside). Overall a very scary situation in many regards that we feel fortunate to have survived. We made a very fast getaway in the morning.

Gross shower and tub. Bathroom floor had puddles of water from the last guests, because the shower curtain rod was broken and staff didn't clean it. The shower curtain itself was dirty with moldy stains on it. Tub was dirty and stained.
Spoiled my Marine Graduation

Well this would be too long of a review - I only can say the bed was comfortable and really my choices where limited because we had a pet. Surrounding area of the hotel is a disaster - photos are not the same as the place and forget about continental breakfast - even NO MILK for coffee!

This is a very run down old Howard Johnson. Rooms are entered from outside; ours was around back and up a flight of outdoor stairs. The outer doors do not lock. The room smelled of smoke. The beds need new mattresses and don’t have that crisp clean linens feel. Our sink clogged up the second day but was repaired when we returned to it at dinner. Towels are replaced haphazardly: one day, no washcloths, another day, no bath mat towel. The empty tissue box was never refilled. The air conditioner can only be set to low. The pool did look nice, although we never used it. If Wyndham bought the HoJo chain, they have a lot of updating to do at this location.
Pink is not always pretty!!!

The bathroom in this room at the Beaufort/Paris Island location seemed to be lacking in housekeeping maintenance. As you can see there is pink mold growing around perimeter of bathtub. Although, not considered harmful or dangerous, this just speaks to the work ethics of this hotel who don’t seem to pride themselves on cleanliness! Just saying!!! As a side note, it was also noisy and you can literally hear a pin drop from surrounding rooms. Conversations heard, quite interesting and entertaining. Lobby smelled like curry. Hallways smelled of cat urine from one of the the side Entrances where our room was located. Will never stay here again!!!!!
