Extremely rude receptionist, told us to take our bags and get out!

Very terrifying and threatening experience that almost ruinder our holiday!
It was about 10PM on May 3, 2019, when we arrived in Hotel Barracuda, hoping to quickly check in and go sleep after an exhausting day of traveling from Iguazu Falls in Argentina all the way to Buzios. We did not have a reservation, but they had 3 standard rooms available on booking.com for the night for a price of 175 real for each room, making it 525 real in total.
After we were shown the room and gotten stung by a hundreds of mosquitoes, we politely asked if they could match the price on booking.com, or should we book the rooms online and wait for the confirmation. We showed them the price for 3 standard rooms available for booking, then suddenly an old German man called his other 2 staffs (young receptionist and one other guy who did not spoke English) into their back office where they intensively started discussing something behind our backs in Portugese. We are from Central Europe and none of us understand a word of Portugese, so we were completely clueless, until we heard word Booking.com. They left us waiting in an empty reception for about 10 minutes, while, I guess, discusssing their plan on how to make a bit of pocket money from tourists who came late at night to a hotel without a taxi to get anywhere else. Suddenly, I swear, the price for those 3 standard rooms changed from 525 real to 720 real right in front of my eyes as I was looking on the screen of my mobile phone! A few minutes later, an old German man came out telling us that the price on Booking.com is not valid anymore, and so we told them that's because they just changed it right in front of mine, and my other 5 friends, eyes.
Discussion started and quickly turned into an argument, but knowing that we are right, we kept calm and polite, while the old man started being more agresive and rude to us as the conversation went by. He kept arguing that these rooms are not available anymore and that we have to pay more, so we told him that we are going to report him to Booking.com and that's when he became literaly sane, yelling at us "and what are they gonna do, take me to jail or what? I am from German and I am in Brazil, so take a taxi and get out of here" he shouted at us. We were completely stunned of what just happened and not feeling very safe, we managed to get a taxi which took us to an another Hotel just a few minutes away.
So, if you are planning to visit Hotel Barracuda in Buzios and see this old German man in his 60s in reception, PLEASE, be very careful, especially if traveling with childrens. There is a plenty of hotels in Buzios to choose from.
Stay away from this miserable place

I live down the beach from this establishment. Maybe the distance is a km. Maybe less. Could it be a wedding that they are hosting as I write? The misterable music -- bate-estacas, or pile driver, as people tend to call it here -- was so loud all last night that, even with the windows closed and the air conditioner at full tilt, my wife got through the night only thanks to ear plugs. I tossed and turned. I did not sleep. And now, following afternoon, they're back at it. And maybe even louder than during the pre-dawn hours. Trazendo alegria para toda a cidade? Given the way sound carries over water, other people herabouts must be suffering as well. And this is not the first time we have been victimized by this miserable place, and, typically, no one there now answers the phone. Please do not reward these disturbers of the peace with your business. It is a miserable establishment on several scores. Neighborliness is just one of them. If the owners or the management would like to get in touch in order to apologize and make the conventional noises about how it will never happen again, I'd be happy to hear from them. They will find their victims not very far beyond the Pousada Martin Pescador, and that ought to be enough info for us to be tracked down.

A place far from the city center, surrounded by beautiful nature. The real relax for those who want to stay in the beach by day, in the evening in the beautiful center of Buzios and sleep in a paradise with sea just a few meters from the room. Excellent staff, classic "Brazilian" breakfast with fruit, fruit juice, and homemade cakes. A particular appreciation to Mr. Renato always available for anything. I strongly recommend this location.... Bravi

Stayed 10 days, including the NY - a working holiday. Really enjoyed it. Quiet, close to a good beach, good, clean, renovated rooms with an open sea view - calm and pleasant. Very nice home cooked food, both breakfast and evening meals - particularly the local fresh fish. Really lovely owner and staff; friendly and helpful. Fond memories, indeed.

I own a hotel, and 1 thing i would say is dont go. The pictures on the internet, make it look appealing, but when you get there , its run down and disgusting. And you dont feel safe. We are still trying to get our money back, they are giving us the run around saying they carnt refund, and they will keep 50percent of the booking, when its all done. We were in our room for 1 min,the lady at reception said they had to clean the room for our stay lol. When nobody was there. An absolute disgrace.
