Disappointed, not up to standard expected

First time using this particular hotel. Not impressed. Had pre booked, arrived after reception closed and in the rain. Check in machine not adequately sheltered so got wet using it. Machine issued key code but not receipt. No anti bacterial gel in entrance to bedroom block, the only place on this visit that did not. Carpet on stairs to rooms very dirty. One of bedside lights not working and skirting on wall outside bathroom fallen off, presumably due to water leak. Bed was comfortable and water was hot. Overall the impression was of a shabby hotel and not up to the standard of other Premiere Classe hotels we have stayed at. It was not expensive but would have preferred to have paid a bit more for somewhere better. Location in central Calais was good

After staying regularly at this hotel for over seven years . We arrived for a three day stay. We left after just one night. We couldn't rest. We were wary of our car being damaged and having to put up with noise from over 50 immigrants that were staying there. When booking online or when. Checking in we were not told. It's when you see them gathering and you feel intimidated. When checking out after the first night reception was not bothered that we were loosing money . They offered us a coffee. We will not be staying there again. Fortunately we were able to find another hotel to have us for the other two nights Do not book this hotel
Women travelling alone? Do NOT book this hotel. Not safe.

I had to travel to the UK urgently to see my mother who had been rushed into hospital suddenly, very very ill. My husband booked this hotel for me online with Agoda, while I was driving north to the Calais ferry port. He advised the hotel that my ETA would be after midnight. At no point did anyone explain that the hotel is unstaffed at night. I arrived at 12.28 am to find myself unable to get into the building: no staff at reception and no info on how to check in using the automated key pad. I have often used automated hotels so am used to these systems but could find no way of even getting in. The automatic keypad didn't even recognise my name, which is very unusual. The hotel's own records will show that the booked room was not accessed, and remained unused that night. So I found myself stranded, a woman alone in a strange town in the middle of the night, with nowhere to stay, after an exhausting 8-hour drive. I was tired, scared and felt unsafe - stuck in the hotel car park at 0100h trying to find solutions. After hunting for other hotels online from my car (no rooms were available), I did not feel safe staying in the car park, and couldn't see how I would get any sleep or rest that night - so I continued on to the ferry port, which has very high security. I joined the queue for the next ferry, and at 0345h I booked onto the next crossing and arrived in Dover at 0500h. When I should still have been in my booked hotel room in Calais. I should have had the good night's rest that I paid for, but instead continued my journey across England in a state of exhaustion. I have never been left by any other hotel in this way. I would not recommend booking this hotel to any woman travelling alone, who may arrive at night - outside staffed hours. The info given at booking point is poor, and the system can't provide help to customers travelling late at night. And despite providing no room, no service, they are refusing to refund my booking. If you are a woman travelling alone, do not use this hotel. An utterly abysmal experience, that I have shared widely with many others I know who regularly travel through Calais to and from the UK. I will never use Agoda or Premiere Classe again, and can only recommend that any female solo traveller does the same. Utter rubbish.
Good budget option

Fantastic location near the belfry and the station...plenty of parking available...it's a budget hotel so keep your expectations in check...however I found it to be clean and comfortable, and the price is right, especially if you are with three!

It is always a pleasure to visit this hotel, convenient for town (plus the station) and easy for us to get the Eurotunnel early in the morning. Staff are friendly and although we don't always have breakfast when we do, it's a great treat. :)
