No room at the Hotel Brianza

I was recently in Bologna on business and booked a room directly with the hotel via email. I was informed of the rate and I informed the hotel that I would be arriving late because of my flight. I did not receive a reply to this but assumed the room was booked anyway. I was not asked for my credit card details, but I imagined I could pay on site. Much to my surprise, when I arrived, no room was booked. I had to pay an extra €35 for a room at another hotel in the centre of the city and a taxi fare there of €24.75. When I asked the hotel for a refund of the taxi fare and the difference from the room at the Hotel Brianza and the one I stayed in, they refused and said that the staff had already gone out of their way to help me. Arriving in a foreign country at night and being treated like this is completely unacceptable and the hotel should be made accountable for the extra money I had to pay. However, I do not know who to complain to - any help as to how I can get the refund would be much appreciated!

I hope this hotel is better managed during the busier Summer season because there the wi-fi did not work and the breakfast was more like a small snack. The hotel is located close to the airport and buses run regularly to the cirt centre. The staff were unhelpful apart from the beautiful girl at reception called Federica. She was the highlight of this hotel and I would only stay here again because of her.

Well so first of all this is not a 3 star hotel. By car it's 8 min from the airport but they don't have shuttle, they can call a taxi for 20 €!!! And if you are not enough quick than you can walk because there is no enough car. But you can't walk cause there is only car road. It was terrible night, the walls are tiny, you can hear everything, really everything, the TV, every singe voices. If your neighbours are lovely and polite and quiet you are lucky otherwise you won't sleep I promise. It's ridiculous, I tried a couple of airport hotel but this was my worst experience ever and I feel soo upset because I slept probably an hour just because this place is horrible. Also for guest : can you please respect each other???? Please, pay a bit more you can save on the taxi but at least you can sleep in peace, staff will be lovely, room will be clean. NEVER EVER!!!!

Terrible customer service. They just don't care

The hotel is located close to the airport. Anyway, too far to get there walking with your suitcase, but just 5 minutes driving. Because of that, they must have an assured inflow of customers, because it’s hard to understand how their personal can be so rude unprofessional and unwelcoming. Coming back home, from a business trip, we stayed there for just one night, as our flight departed very soon in the morning. We get there (13/12/2019) and ask the person in reception about our reservation. We weren’t sure about the name since it could be the Italian company hiring us, my colleague or the contact the company assigned us. The man in the reception replied in a bad mood that he was just asking for the name of the reservation, ‘something so simple’ (literal). Finally we gave him my colleague Id, and after looking trough several sheets of paper, he wasn’t able to locate our reservation. They hadn’t free rooms, so bad luck. Back to the street in the cold winter, we tried to call our contact in Italy to talk about the problem, but 10 minutes later, the hotel guy came to the street and told us he had a free room, a triple, being more expensive. Suddenly our contact call us back and says he made the reservation, so we went back to the lobby but the guy is still unable to locate our room. He is looking through all the papers, and it has to be ME who find our name IN THE TOP SHEET OF THE PILE!!! Apart from that the place is convenient. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything surrounding you but it’s warm and clean. We often visit Bologna for business trip, but we’ll try to avoid this place in the future.
