The nicest state park lodge we've been to

Reviewed 3 november, 2021

Planned a few day getaway that was perfect in almost every way. The only downside was that we checked in November 1st and a lot of local attractions closed....November 1st. But the lodge was great; the people, the service and the bed. We travel quite a bit and beds are always a concern. These envelope you. The food was above par and reasonably priced. But, despite being the Bigfoot center of Ohio, not a Bigfoot was sighted. Was forced to buy a shirt that said 'Bigfoot saw me...but nobody believes him'.

A real gem!

Our trip was to visit a Muskingum University student for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. The lodge has so many nooks and crannies to sit and relax or view the beautiful scenery. Lots to do on property or just beyond. Our room was neat and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Lakeside Chalet Cabin

Reviewed 16 october, 2021

My Husband and i booked a three night stay in a lakeside chalet. This was our first time at the park and we were blown away at the size and beauty of Salt Fork. The roads in the park were all well maintained and plenty of signs to help find everything. The Lodge itself was beyond beautiful. We had all our meals at the Timbers restaurant, the food was excellent but very pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in is at 4pm, and not a minute before. I didn't mind the wait as there was plenty to do. But I wish that the staff would of used that time to actually clean the chalet. We opened the door to a dirty floor and the tv was left on, loud. I had to wash a couple glasses and coffee cups before we could even use them, same with the silverware. The king size bed was nice ,but only had a thin scratchy bedspread, no extra blankets. Nothing to ruin our stay, just a few things that need improved. It did have a nice full kitchen and comfy living room to relax in. The hot tub was awesome, but absolutely NO privacy. desperately needs to be blinds or curtains hung. The cabins are soo close together. I guess that can't be helped, but walking out your door and the neighbor is maybe 10 ft away . Or wanting to sit around a fire and the neighbor's firepit is maybe 5 ft away. Maybe some privacy bushes or fences? I will say the views made up for ,or at least made it easier to deal with inconveniences and issues. Spectacular!

Nice weekend Getaway

Reviewed 12 october, 2021

My wife and I recently spent a weekend here and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The check in staff was welcoming and got our stay off to a positive start. Our room, which was large and immaculately clean, overlooked the woods and we were able to observe some visiting deer from our balcony. The restaurant was very good, especially breakfast, and the servers were friendly and efficient. Access to the beautiful park and hiking trails was very convenient from the lodge's location, as well. The only shortcoming we experienced was the terrible Wi-Fi reception in and around our room. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we're looking forward to visiting again.

Lovely Lodge

Reviewed 6 september, 2021

The lodge was absolutely lovey. They have both an outdoor and indoor pool and an hour of adults only in the outdoor pool at the end of the evening (big plus for us!) Our room was nice with a deck with 2 chairs and a small table, perfect for the evenings. Take advantage of the four firepits outside to roast some marshmallows. My only complaint was they didn't have enough staff for the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn't spot Bigfoot.
