Moisés Rodrigo Acosta (Waiter)

Moisés made our experience something special despite the lack of judgment and customer service of the host of the restaurant Albatros. We were a family group and we asked to be seated together, the host not only denied our request to please sit us all together, she decided to sit us in each corner of the restauran. It was 7am (morning) with only 2 tables occupied. I ask Moisés, if it was possible to sit us all together in 2 tables. He smiles at me and tells me; we gladly arrange these two tables together for you and your family to sit together for breakfast. I was so happy! Because Moisés has great judgment to justify this situation and he has it clear that customer service is a priority.
I understand the protocols with the current situation, but our request was under circumstances of being in an open place, because we sat outside next to the beach, not inside. And we were a family group.
Gracias Moisés 😉

Moises was our waiter at the Albatros restaurant, we had made reservations for the whole family for our last day in Cancun…..There were ten of us in attendance and assumed we could put our tables together. We had asked the Host whom most vehemently denied us this. My wife then approached Moises and presented him with the same question, who wholeheartedly said of course, as a customer I like to treat you as I would like to be treated myself, so I will make this happen. Albatros has an outdoor concept that would allow for our family to have our tables together in accordance to COVID 19 (Moises explanation) The host that had previously told us no, then called him and barraged him on how he was wrong . We naturally were in fear of Moises becoming reprimanded, so we told him we would sit separately …. He said not to worry, He put us together and we had a great celebration ( and service ) to our last day in Cancun…..thanks to a waiter who maintains a golden rule ethics and is not afraid to accommodate . I hope Moises did not suffer any ill treatment , I would like to add on the contrary that his actions should be made exemplary and recognized by management to the effect of Moises becoming supervisory material himself. I would love to further this conversation with his supervisors if they should choose to

If you want to pay for a prison experience, bring your jumpsuit because you came to the right place! Also bring your own toilet paper if you're not down to man vs wild that shiii. First of all, everyone was so rude, we were just trying to have a good time in our vacation. It took us around an hour to check in, and our room was the worst. We had all inclusive, or as we thought, because not single day we ate there, we had to resort to scavenging on the beach. We managed to cash a few fish and some sargasso, it was actually better than the food served in their restaurants lol. We were out of toilet paper, for the majority of our stay, so we had to resort to sargasso as toilet paper, little did we know we were going to have rashes. Then we had to serve ourselves water ,or whatever we had to drink, ourselves because the staff did not serve us at all, pitcher in hand, I was ready to whack a waiter if they came close to me.
All jokes aside, this is truly the worst hotel I have stayed at in Cancun. I do not recommend it to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
The Junior swim up suite made it worth it....

This is a solid 3 star hotel trying to disguise itself as a 4 star hotel. The room service is horrible, with only 3 options for dinner, Hamburger, Hot dogs or nachos. You cannot order from the nicer restaurant for room service, and can only go there with a reservation. While the restaurant is nice, I wanted to eat in my room, more on that later. The employees of the hotel are handcuffed by managements policies. I found all of the hotel employees I encountered to be friendly. Only problem I had was the language barrier. Most of them do not speak English at all.. After some hand gesturing and bad Spanish, they understood and helped me to the best of their abilities. The hotel facilities are ok, but trying to find an elevator when I was leaving the hotel so I did not have to lug my heavy luggage up the stairs was a pain in the behind. Hotel was more than happy to bring my bags to my room, but showed no interest in taking them back to the lobby when I left. Now to my room. I paid a lot of extra cash for the all inclusive junior swim up suite. The view was worth the price alone in my opinion. I paid around $1850 for a week. For a room like that, it was the cheapest rate I could find in Cancun. I have checked the price lately, and it has gone up almost two fold. So I guess I got really lucky on the price. The air conditioning sucked. It kept my room at around 77 degrees all day. Wifi works ok, but you always have to reconnect. The bathroom was very small, and the shower pressure was not the greatest, but it got the job done. Bathroom was clean. The bed, well, it is just a box spring with some padding on top. Very very firm. Although I did not feel any springs through the padding, it was way to firm for me, and took me a couple of days for my body to adjust to it. The TV was great. Had two channels I watched almost exclusively, HBO and the Star Channel. Both in English most of the time. The mini fridge/mini bar was a huge letdown. They only stock it with 4 beers a day. It was stocked with 2 Modelo and 2 corona lights. For 2 people, that is unacceptable. Anytime you wanted to drink more, you had to go to the bar. And if you where in the pool on the back patio, it is a real pain in the ass. I ended up buying my own beer and tequila to cover the shortage. This should not happen at an all inclusive, ever. Also, wearing a bracelet for a week is no bueno. By the 5th day, it felt like it was digging into my wrist. I ripped it off on day 5. I guess I got lucky, because no one said anything to me. Now back to the mini fridge. it kept my beer and water and soda luke warm. Even when in there overnight, it barely got them cold, but never really cold. If you like cold beer, you will be severely disappointed. I debated to get a cooler and ice, but I regretfully did not. Now for the star attraction, that made it worth putting up with a subpar wannabe 4 star hotel that is really a 3 star hotel resort, the swim up portion. I cannot put into words how fantastic this was. You got a great unobstructed view to the ocean and beach. It truly was a slice of paradise. The only negative I have to say about that part of the room was, people tend to congregate a few feet from the pool on my back patio to smoke. That was really irritating. It was a constant flow of smokers all day. Besides that one downfall, it was magnificent. I would definitely do it again for $1800 for a week, but not for the new price at $3250 a week. Also, I got two beach towels that I used all week. At check in, they give you two cards to get two beach towels. I do not know if you can take them back and get two more. for me, it was not needed. Management, I hope you read this and make changes to improve the experience at your hotel. Some little changes, such as room service from Albatross, colder room mini fridges, and unlimited beer delivered to the room, would go a long way in making the Flamingo experience much better.
DO NOT STAY HERE , EVER!!
