Great trip
We had a great week just the two of us. Juan Sanchez did a great job making us comfortable. Our butler Jessica was AMAZING. Our room was comfortable and clean. Food was good, but we definitely recommend using the restaurants, even for breakfast & lunch, over the buffet.
5 Star Service
This was our first time to Cancun and I'm so glad we got lucky with this hotel. As far as the service is concerned, I don't think you'll find anything in this price range this good. As far as Covid Safety measures go, this Hotel and Cancun in general does not mess around, We felt they put the U.S to shame with how well they implemented this. The drinks were legitimately good and comparatively the food was better compared to other all -inclusive resorts we have visited, Yes the portions are a little small BUT we just ordered more if we were still hungry. Mexican and Oriental restaurants were very good, Italian was a little disappointing with undercooked pasta in all of or dishes. The little activities and shows the resort put on were reminiscent of what you would get on a cruise ship and enough to keep things interesting. If you are wondering if this hotel offers a Free Shuttle to and from the Airport, They do not. We used Happy Shuttle which cost $50 R/T for a personal van , I only include this after hearing people at the front desk asking.
Rough first couple of days
My family and I stayed at this resort for a week. Two weeks prior to arrival, we called and asked if we could be accommodated for early check-in because our flight was changed and would be arriving early. The woman on the phone confirmed it wouldn't be a problem. Upon arrival, we were told that they do not allow early check-in and we'd have to wait 4 hours until the rooms were ready at 3pm. We were allowed to use the amenities but after traveling for many hours and being told we could check-in early, we really just wanted to unpack and relax for a few minutes. At check-in we were also informed we had to pay mandatory fees that were not mentioned anywhere on the hotels website or posted anywhere in our reservation. The fee was not very expensive but a little heads up would have been appreciated. The woman at concierge badgered us asking about what potential offers we received at the airport and was adamant about looking through my mom's purse for a paper that she felt looked like one a competitor gives out. We'd been there maybe 45 minutes at that point so they were off to a very bad start. The next morning, my family went out for a walk and 2 people from concierge followed us out and bombarded us with questions about where we were going and why we would want to go somewhere else. It was very frustrating and annoying. One of the concierge even called security and asked them to watch where we went and if we were getting into anyone's car. It was absolutely ridiculous. The next day we agreed to listen to their timeshare pitch. Lo and behold, after listening to their pitch and not becoming members, we were given an orange wristband and we were left alone by concierge for the rest of the trip. The facility is clean and well maintained but beware of surprise fees and that annoying concierge. The food was ok. The employees outside of concierge were all very friendly and helpful. Any questions we had about the local area they were more than willing to answer.
Very good!
This was our first, but definitly not the last, visited to El Mirador. this restaurant uan Carlos, Thank you very much Juan Carlos for a wonderful dinner. Your service and knowledge of the menu and food was outstanding! We cannot wait to visit El Mirador again! Francis & Elmarè.
Relaxing vacation
This was a nice relaxing stay, staff was super nice and rooms were very clean. We spent most day’s by the pool, the entertainment was decent and the food was fine as well. Not much shade at the beach and it’s too rough to really get in and swim. They have a quiet pool here as well, if you don’t want to be bothered with entertainment. Room service option was very nice as well, though the menu is limited. Getting the Covid test was easy and quick. No complaints!
