This hotel served my needs of staying in the area for several months with work. I typically stay with another brand of hotel, but this was the only extended stay that had a rate within the allowable range of my employer; that ended up being a blessing for me, in the end. The staff was very nice, and I appreciated that they let me have a few packages shipped to the hotel when I needed to do so. There aren’t a ton of restaurants within walking distance, but there is a Starbucks within a four-minute drive. There is also a set of Amazon delivery lockers at the gas station around the corner, which ended up being really convenient, as well. My coworkers recommended this hotel because it is in a safe area and doesn’t have a lot of the issues the hotels at the beach have, and I have to agree with them that this was a far better location. This is definitely where I will be staying if I am back in the area.
Maintenance Sorely Needed

Stayed here for one night on my first business trip since the start of the pandemic last year. Thought it would be good to be close to the office but was not happy with the property. My room had a few problems: 1. Toilet kept running every few minutes so I shut off the main valve. 2. Refrigerator was so loud that I had to turn it off. Could be a compressor problem. 3. Dark 4. Noisy from overlooking the pool When working out in the gym a couple more problems were found that I have not seen before: 1. Rust on the exercise equipment. Given its use indoors I am unable to fathom why rust should appear on most equipment. 2. Missing dumbbells-maybe someone took a bunch of them but if you only have a 15, 20 and 25 pound pairs, one 30 pound dumbbell and then jump to 50pounds I could not complete my planned workout. The breakfast was as expected. All self service including the ability to select how much you want instead of the pre-portioned containers at other hotels. Good if you were hungry but more touching by so many guests. Doubtful I will stay here again.

Do not stay here. This was our 3rd time staying at this property and this will be our last. See attached photos of mold on the wall vent, trash around the property, and divots in the toilet seat. For $500+ a night it's an absolute ripoff. I brought the mold to the managers attention and she did not offer any compensation and did not seem shocked by it. Even as an elite Marriott member - nothing was offered. Very worn down property. Stay somewhere else in Carlsbad!
Very nice beach stay!

Quick staycation trip for family of 4 plus the grandparents. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was the perfect size for all of us. Rooms are slightly outdated and could use a refresh but it was very clean, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were comfy! The free breakfast was a nice amenity. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub and the whole outdoor area was updated and clean! The staff was very friendly and responsive to our needs. I would highly recommend!
THANK YOU, BRITTANY...!!!

Special thanks to Brittany on the Front Desk for making our last-minute, spur-of-the-moment reservation a wonderful success. We were treated to a VIP Titanium upgrade to the 2-Bedroom/2-Bath suite and it was the usual exceptional Resident Inn spread: giant rooms, giant TVs, bath tubs, screened windows that open for a breeze. The fitness room here is by appointment and the hot tub was bubbling away (check on the routine for this as it looked most inviting). Breakfast was a Grab 'n Go served to you by a friendly staffer who offered some choices among bagel, muffin, orange, protein bar, milk cartons and yogurts. It's a clean and sparkling property. Thank you again, Brittany!
