The place to be

Location is absolutely perfect: you get the best of the vibrant area in Getsemani and yet you are able to have a great night sleep. Within a ten minutes walk you are right in La Torre del Reloj. Place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful and as soon as you set your feet at the posada, Yolanda and her team make you feel like Family. They really take good care of you without being intrusive. Great breakfasts made to order and excellent conversations throughout the day. Loved this place and I wouldn't even think of staying somewhere else when returning to Cartagena( because Cartagena deserves many visits).

Stayed at Posada La Fe for 2 nights and felt like my mother was taking of us. The 2 great ladies that look after the place, Yolanda and Elsie were incredible. They were so kind and accommodating, especially for me as I'm gluten and dairy free. They made food for me that was not on the breakfast menu. The rooms were an okay size but good enough for a couple of days and even included a mini fridge. The whole place was very clean and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend staying here. The location is perfect. So well located that you never need to take a taxi as everything is in walking distance. Much better to stay in this part of town than in the old city of Cartagena as it is a little quieter and still has good restaurants. A very positive experience!
A Quaint, Welcoming Place

When I arrived at Posada La Fe, I was warmly greeted by Yolanda and Elsy, the lovely ladies who look after this quaint property.
My single twin-bed room was surprisingly spacious. The room was spotless and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner and wi-fi worked great, and the shower provided plenty of hot water with good water pressure.
As my Spanish is limited, communication with the staff was a bit challenging but certainly not impossible. The hotel provides a list of instructions and tips in English in the room, which was very helpful.
Breakfast was simple, fast and yummy. I enjoyed the fresh juice and yogurt with fruit and granola. It was a nice, light meal to start my day with.
I loved the hotel’s location on a quiet, car-free, residential alley. It’s close to many restaurants, bars, convenience stores, etc. and less than a 10-minute walk from the Old City.
Yolanda and Elsy were very helpful with arranging a taxi for my early morning flight. I was so surprised to discover they rose at 4:15 a.m. to ensure I was up and ready to go. And Elsy even walked me down the alley to the waiting taxi.
Compared to the other places I stayed in Colombia, the hotel does seem to be a bit expensive. I can’t speak for the other rooms, however, the room I stayed in would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. Nonetheless, I was pleased with my overall stay.
Not quite a 5 for me

I wanted to - and fully expected - to love this place. It may have been the contrast from the vast expanse of space I came from in Tayrona but this just felt a little claustrophobic. Rooms have no exterior windows - although beds are very comfortable and all is spotlessly clean. Water is only provided on the first night - everything else has to be purchased (cheaper at the tienda at at he end of the road). I think it also felt a little impersonal as the only on site staff are the housekeepers who while lovely have a limited remit.
Having said all of that, the location is great (Getsemeni being much more residential and less hectic than the inner walled city whilst only a 10 minute walk away, one I was very happy to do alone), it is very clean and comfortable and there are a couple of small outside places to sit and relax if you need a break from sightseeing.
At advanced booking rates (which I paid) I would say this is slightly overpriced - maybe take your chances and book last minute, particularly in off season.
Great small hotel in the heart of Getsemani neighborhood

We booked this small hotel months in advance. It has only 6 rooms.
The rooms look brand new with modern conveniences like flat screen tv, good working wifi, safe, refrigerator, hairdryer, and a decent breakfast included in the price all for approx $80 a night. Tiny dunking pool on the top level was nice to cool off.
Loved staying in the Getsemani neighborhood. Lively, local, great people watching, and a genuine community feel. I can’t imagine staying in the walled city. Getsemani is a vibrant neighborhood full of music and street art. Do yourself a favor and take the Getsemani free tour with Luis. He meets his guests in front of the Plaza Trinidad daily at 10 and 4p. Passionate about his community, lovely man, brought his neighborhood and community to life.
Back to the hotel. The only downside is there is no real staff onsite, except for the housekeepers and during breakfast. You must arrange an estimated time of your check in so they can meet you there. No one to ask about restaurants etc, but they do provide a map with recommended places. We had an early flight and had their sister property full service hotel Casa La fe arrange our airport transportation.
Would I stay her again? Absolutely. Great value, lovely staff, wonderful modern rooms, and walking distance of everything.
