Avoid this La Quinta, what a crap hole
First two days there the smell of marijuana was everywhere on the 1st floor where they put everyone with dogs. Not only do the guest suck at cleaning up after their dogs poop outside but the hotel also makes no attempt, poop everywhere. Multiple outlets in the room are worn out and the plug falls right out. The bolts holding the toilet to the floor were rusted and the toilet tipped right over. Water damage to bathroom floor, baseboards, plaster, and doors, mold present by the refrigerator, laminate on vanity flaking off. Housekeeping didn’t vacuum room very well as there was a baby toy from previous guest along the bed frame. Obviously the decor is dated and owners are making no attempt to keep things maintained and clean, no access to business room for printer, no breakfast and the outside of the building has mold and water damage all over. RUN FAST from this dump. Due to the low price this place also attracts a lower level of clientele who are apparently accepting of this dump
Excellent Room
Not the easiest hotel to get to, but worth the effort and appeared to be in a good area. Hotel was quiet the night I stayed which was conducive for a peaceful nights sleep. My room and bathroom were both very clean and smelled clean. Good rate and very nice staff with quick check in and check out. Would definitely stay again.
Horrible Experience
I came from the LaQuinta near the airport - Gym was open (like most gyms in the city) the pool was open, and there was a continental breakfast like...packs of oatmeal, packs of hot chocolate, wrapped breakfast sandwiches, coffee and juice. Only stipulation was to use gloves and have a mask. I transferred over to this one and the gym was not open, the pool was not open, nothing for breakfast accept for coffee (like everyone drinks coffee) So, I went to the store and bought some food, that being said I needed plastic utensils and a bowl for my food...THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE THAT! For right now, I was told since they are not ordering food, they do not have those items either. So, during the virus, if you are expecting the gym, some kind of breakfast, or even a bowl or a plastic spoon you should not stay here.
Roaches!
First of all, let me say that I have been traveling for dog events for 20 years now(Many at this very location in Cary,NC) and this is the first time I have ever had this problem. The location is great, the price is right, beds are hard but I can deal but I draw the line at roaches. That night I saw one on the nightstand, killed it and thought, oh well, we have had a lot of rain lately. But the next morning upon waking and turning on lights, I picked up a bag from the desk and 3 ran for cover. Then I went in the bathroom and one was crawling up the wall. Back into the bedroom and still another crawling up the wall. It was like a horror movie and I couldn’t get out of there quick enough. I am so disappointed with this as this was really the perfect place to stay on many levels. Now I feel like I can never go back.
Unsatisfied with LQ
The room we were given had such an awful smell. We were there for 6 days and 5 nights with no room service the entire time. Did I mention we had our dog with us as well, a 175 lb dog, in one room the entire time with no housekeeping. I know this is because of CoVid but how it makes it safer for staff and guests I do not understand. Seems like just a cost cutting measure with no thought to the housekeeping staff that count on their jobs to live.
