Simply put: The room wasn't clean. Hair all over bathtub-shower. Mold or mildew. Clearly, the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned, let alone inspected by a housekeeping supervisor or manager. Hotel has a good location, but the owner operates other chain hotels in Casper. So there's really no competition and thus no incentive to improve the Courtyard. I had a small bottle of conditioner in the bathroom, but no shampoo or body wash. Due to the poor design of the rooms, the TV was difficult to watch from the bed. Treadmills in gym are old. The bistro menu is very limited. Can't get a coffee and fruit bowl for under $10, which is the value of the Marriott Bonvoy voucher for platinums and higher. Casper doesn't have many good hotels. So this will probably remain an option in the future, depending on the rate.
Furniture is decorative but not comfortable

We were disappointed in the furnishings in the room. The bed was very comfortable, but the half-moon sofa was uncomfortable as was the desk chair. Leaving the bed as the only place to sit and watch television or work. Staff was friendly. Ate at the restaurant and it was just okay.
Obvious staffing issues

It was obvious that the hotel was having staffing issues. When we checked in and went tour room, we were surprised to see the door was opened. There was a vacuum cleaner visible, and no sheets on the bed, but no person in the room. We went back to the front desk and requested a new room. That room was on a different floor. We got off the elevator and there was a full bag of garbage in front of the elevators. We thought that was weird, but proceeded to our room. We were surprised that the garbage was still there when we went out for dinner, and when we got back. We were shocked that it was still there the next morning! Inexcusable. Not something I had ever seen at a Marriott property. Our second room was perfect-clean,quiet, and dark. Perfect for sleeping. I would give this hotel a second chance to get it right.

We stayed overnight on our way to Yellowstone. Asked for another room because of the proximity to the elevator which was loud. They said that the hotel was "sold out". This is the same excuse I had on another courtyard recently in Grand Junction. It seems that hotels in remote locations are extremely "popular". The service at the front desk was mediocre and so where the rooms. The only positive thing was the service of the restaurant staff. I am definitely going to rethink my loyalty to Marriott.
Good for night on a road trip

Stayed for a night on the way from MT to Denver to catch a flight home. Located next to I-25 with the mountains in view from the other side. Design miss: the rooms with a balcony face the highway? Check in was friendly and quick. 500 bonus miles or $10 food/bev credit offered to Bonvoy members, which has been standard. Room had been redone a few years ago and looks good at first. When you look more closely, there are things that need addressed (peeling wallpaper, grout etc.). Overall, you know what you are getting and this location fit the bill for us.
