Generally very good
We stayed for 3 nights in the Trullo. This was a good experience. Despite offering the opportunity to stay in an authentic Puglian building, it was functional and comfortable. The pool area was very nice, but it was only warm enough to use it on one of our three days. WiFi worked surprisingly well and the breakfast buffet was reasonably decent (much better than usual for Italy). The dinner, which is a key part of the experience since it's awkward to drive out to go anywhere else was good value. You get a 4 course meal for EUR20-25 per person and can add reasonably priced (EUR10) bottles of wine to that. The food was not perfect, but was generally quite good and good enough that we dined here all night. Slight annoyance was that the tap water is not drinkable (not their fault) but upon arrival there was no bottled water in our room (either complementary or for sale) meaning that we either had to walk up to the restaurant every time we wanted a bottle of water, or head straight out to a supermarket. A couple of litres of complementary drinking water in the rooms wouldn't go amiss in getting guests started.
A warm welcome
We arrived mid-afternoon on a cold and wet day (in mid-May!) and the staff immediately welcomed us with an instant cold lunch and a bottle of Primitivo. The friendly and ready service continued throughout our stay. We stayed in the two independant rooms next to the trullo. The room were spacious, warm and bone dry. We dined in house each night, choosing, as we ate breakfast, our menu for the evening. This masseria is well placed for visits (use Google maps) to: Alberobello (trulli) - Park in Piazzale Biagio Miraglia (€6 for the day) - Try underground Restaurant Casanova, Via Monte S.Marco 13 (+39 080 432 3292) Matera (read "Christ stopped at Eboli" by Carlo Levi) - Park in multi-story car park on Via Pasquale Vena (€2.50 for 5 hours) - Guided tours kiosk (€30pp) on corner.
Relax in Nature
This was our first time to Puglia and our experience at Masseria Torricella was excellent. The food was excellent, the wine was fantastic and the view is amazing. The property is kept up very well and the staff are excellent.
A taste of Puglia
Our evening started with a dance demonstration by the local youth. The four course meal was delicious and featured the traditional Puglian foods. Everything was perfectly prepared and quite filling. A must stop .
Perfect Dinner
Wanted to have dinner at this beautiful Agriturismo. The staff answered really quick and nice. The dinner was delicious! Fresh vegetables. Mostly everything (meat, fruits and vegetables) grown and prepared by themselves. Marco, the chef of the restaurant is super nice and friendly with every guest. Beautiful and big Agriturismo! Couldn’t have a better evening.
