Older property in a great location. Lobby area was very clean and breakfast was good. Room could use a few updates, but overall good. Definitely felt safe . There are several restaurants close which is a bonus.
The Good & the Bad
Reviewed 22 november, 2021
Veterans Day weekend, so lots of activity here. First, the good: location, room. The hotel is steps away from the river running and bike path. There is Pedego, a bike rental place, steps from the hotel, so convenient. Second, ample free parking. St. Philips Plaza has several restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream place, and a really fun weekend market. Room was a typical Homewood Suites config. Issues: housekeeping. Apparently, Hilton now has a policy of only doing housekeeping with 24 hour advance notice. Result: bags of garbage placed outside rooms. The one larger trash can near the elevator was overflowing with garbage, as was the trashcan poolside. This policy doesn't work as there are extended stay guests who cook, shop for groceries, etc. That creates garbage. Laundry facilities were woeful. 2 washer, 2 dryers, one of which didn't really dry well. No rods to hang clothes or chairs to sit on or convenient plugs to sit and work while doing laundry. Apparently, the hotel has been made aware of this problem and has elected not to do anything. Breakfast: very good. The ladies worked hard, kept the area clean, stocked with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, bread, etc. The breakfast area was large and comfortable, lots of light. Pool area had a firepit, which has to be activated by the front desk. Only two tables and chairs, no landscaping. Not very cheerful or inviting. Front desk: Chloe and Hannah were excellent, on the ball. This is a large hotel, and some rooms are a walk from the front desk, so keep that in mind; however, there is little parking by the front desk. Most is around back.
Don’t use Hilton

You are expected to clean and make your own beds. Use old towels or go down to the front desk to ask for new bathroom towels. Even when asked to clean the room three times the room wasn’t cleaned the first day.

Hospitality was excellent and breakfast was great as well. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and will refer to everyone that I know that Homewood Suites is the most accommodating hotel that I have stayed at to date
Pet fees are very high
Reviewed 5 november, 2021
Be careful pet fees were $150 for two small pets < 12lbs total. Pet fees were almost as much as the room fees! This is very excessive. Most places charge a flat fee per stay. The fee is for "pet cleaning" which is reasonable. But for one night $150?!?
