Great location, friendly front desk

Couldn’t have had a better stay in Chamonix. The hotel is convenient to the train station, cable cars (both Plan Praz and Aiguille du Midi) and all the restaurants and shopping of Chamonix. Our trip involved several scheduling changes (changing dates and adding dates) while we were in Chamonix. The front desk handled all of the changes efficiently and even made a restaurant reservation for us as well when we thought our language skill would not be sufficient. Our excess luggage was safely stored in the baggage room when we were on trail. We ended up staying 5 nights at the Mercure Chamonix but checked in on 3 different days! Would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable hotel in the heart of Chamonix

We chose to spend our honeymoon here and we absolutely loved the whole experience. They welcomed us with smiles , and in our room they gave us a personal wedding greeting in handwriting and for us it's so classic we loved the effort. the Hotel is situated right next to the gare, and very near the major lifts, the mer de glace express, the restaurants, the town square, pretty much everything is a stones throw away. Our room is facing the mountains and it's so peaceful to wake up in this view everyday. the breakfast is plentiful, and the check-in and check-out was very quick. we will definitely come back.
Family Skiing Holiday

We have recently returned from Mercure Chamonix Centre and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a skiing holiday in Chamonix. The hotel itself is modern, clean and well presented, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the location is fantastic. You are literally a stone throw from the restaurants and bars (yet there’s no noise at all) and it’s bang next door to Chamonix Centre train station so all the other resorts are easily accessible (again there’s no noise from the trains either). We went as a family of 4 with 2 young children and we will certainly be returning again.
Not a 4 star experience

Stayed here with my teenage son for 4 nights during the recent holidays. While the hotel is on a good location and has certain positive attributes, it is dated and not well staffed meaning the experience is well below what you would expect from the price and star rating. Firstly the good points: as mentioned location - close to many shops and restaurants in the center of town. Also, ski hire shop within the facility and a solid breakfast buffet which was included in our room price. The size of the room was also decent. However, several negatives included heavily worn state of both rooms and certain common-areas: Chipped furniture, pool table out-of-order, broken lamps etc. Then there was first the lack of warm water and low water pressure. According to staff this was because too many guests were taking showers at the same time when returning from skiing! Who would have thought!! How this could be a surprise to an alpine hotel is a little puzzling. Cleanliness was average too. I’m general unfortunately the hotel appeared poorly managed with the staff badly coordinated and unmotivated. Not directly rude but not on key or interested in helping guests either. All said, this wasn’t a hotel stay from hell - it’s an ok place but below the usual mercure standard of unglamorous but solid 4 star presence, here we’re talking more like 3 star and don’t expect a nice warm shower. Trick - unless very heavy snow, park in the car peak next door and save €20 per night compared to the overrated hotel facility.
The rudest staff ever experienced

I am the platinum member of Accor who spent more nights in Accor hotels than any other hotels during my visit abroad, sadly this is the 1st hotel of Accor we experienced that doesn’t give any importance or listen to customer request despite your loyal status. The receptionist and the manger are very rude!
