A hidden gem right outside of Charleston

I was on a my way to Erie, PA and I decided I didn’t want to travel any further for the night. This place was a wonderful stop. Very quiet and clean right outside of the capital city. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The price of the room was also very reasonable for what you get. My only knock on this hotel is that there are no food options nearby. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but it’s not very common to have no food options close by. If you want to grab something common like pizza or McDonald’s to bring back with you, you’ll have to go about 10-15 minutes from here. But other than that, I was very happy with this hotel and I would definitely stay here again
Would not return

I actually feel a bit guilty about writing an average review on this property, but the room was really a problem that cannot be overlooked. I elected to provide a 2.5, rounding up. Our family arrived after 10 PM and was very tired from an afternoon and evening on the road. Staff was exceptional on getting us quickly checked in so we could get to the room and bed down in preparation for a 545 AM departure. My son needed a tooth brush and they accommodated at the front desk during check in. The room key opened without a hitch. An immediate odor struck us all upon entering. It was not foul, but WOW! The odor was a thick musty smell. With it now pushing 1030 we dealt with it. The room was adequate, but dated and was commiserate with the price range of the room. Everything was clean in our double including sheets. The mattress and pillows passable. The plumbing worked fine, but the air seems to struggle during our mid August visit. They offered a FREE breakfast however we left prior to it being available. Our van was loaded loaded with everything for moving my son into college and there was no issue with security thankfully. This was huge! So the final score as previously stated is a 2.5 and I'm rounding up with super friendly desk staff and secure parking lot. The big negative is the musty room. It's impossible for me to know if this issue runs throughout the hotel. I would not return.

Close to expressway, yet very quiet. We slept great. Next door to a family restaurant for dinner. Free breakfast was great. Wish the waffles were available (thanks covid). Welcomed to cookies and popcorn individually packaged. Coffee in room and at the front desk. Friendly staff. Clean breakfast area and room.

We had an excellent stay: the room was completely clean, the bedding was comfy, and we heard no loud noise. The breakfast choices were the best we've had in any hotel during our week-long road trip. We appreciated being warmly greeted when we arrived and offered popcorn or cookies and a loyalty welcome bag ( not all Choice Hotels do that).
Someone broke into my car

I did enjoy this stay for the most part but no one should ever have to worry about there things being stolen. From the start I didn’t like that I couldn’t see the parking lot from my room because I have a lot of stuff for work on the back of my truck. The lady told me not to worry that it was fenced in and theres “security”. I walked out to check my truck and trailer and there were people smoking weed and no “security” in sight. I paid $15 to have my vehicle broken into. And then told it wasn’t the hotels property when I called them. I won’t return and I don’t recommend.
