Nice Property but not 4 stars…

Jake at the front desk was awesome- I think some of the other front desk members can take a lesson from him. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was subpar. The shower head was moldy, hair from the previous guest left on the soap holder in the shower, very dirty window treatments, dust on the moldings. The bar area with fireplace is lovely for a nightcap- drinks were great. Wish I could give this property a better rating but in the era of covid cleanliness is of the utmost importance and they failed miserably. Lastly- room lacked 4 star amenities that are found in 2-3 star properties (shower cap and slippers…). Cost was nearly $400- definitely not worth it.

Beautiful unique & convenient

The rooms at Oakhurst Inn are modern, clean, and beautiful (I was especially impressed with the art in the rooms; usually hotel art is so terrible but these are gorgeous). Walking distance to the university, free parking.

Almost great but horrible soundproofing

The hotel consists of several buildings very close to the University. Our king bed room is a decent size with a large modern bathroom. Tasteful modern decoration. The service is impeccable, very warm and explanatory welcome from Jake, very good advice. Everything is facilitated for the parking on the site. The comfort is excellent. However there is a major problem, that of the soundproofing. The floors are noisy (you can easily hear walking, but especially the door is useless, it's as if the people in the hallway were in your room. We were there in weekend and in the morning at 7:30 we are woken up by a kid and his father talking in the corridor for 10 minutes!

The hotel was very clean and relaxing. All the staff at the hotel was friendly. Jacob was the best. Our dog has health issues and he was very accommodating. The bartender was very friendly and she made excellent drinks.

Weekend Football Excursion

A group of 10 alumni from Wake Forest traveled to Charlottesville for the football game with UVA and we stayed at the Oakhurst Inn. It was perfect! The rooms were right sized and comfortable, the staff was helpful and anticipated our needs at every turn, and the location was walking distance to the football stadium. The food at the Cafe was delicious - we had breakfast there. We hope to stay there again.
