Less than awesome

Laquinta all over the country is always a last choice due to previous experiences, all to do with service and troublesome clerks and very rude and callous behavior of management. I accepted the opportunity to stay at Laquinta as a “one last chance” and was greatly disappointed.
Smelly and loud

My daughter and I stayed here based on good reviews. I noticed when we arrived that it smelled funny in the atrium, kind of like wet dog. We asked to be put on a floor with no pets and a quiet room. The person at the desk said that even though we checked in early, he had already assigned most rooms to people he called and that we should have answered our phone. I told him we didn't receive a call and I've never heard if a place doing this. He gave us a a room above a pet floor, saying again that he pre-assigned others to people who answered their phones. A clearly large dog barked through the night and incessantly beginning around 8 am. I understand they take pets, but at times this place sounded at times like a kennel. It really felt like they preferred pet owners over other people.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the front desk staff. The young man was very kind and helpful. He informed us of the hotel procedures and policies, told us about the internet and breakfast, and then offered us menus to local restaurants. Check-in was quick and easy. The decor and look of the lobby and our room was very clean and chic. I love how it came with a microwave, mini fridge, and desk. The location of the hotel is good, too. Right off the interstate, within walking distance to a couple restaurants and convenience stores. It's a few miles from downtown, far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to be there within a few minutes. Another plus was that breakfast was served. It was simple: toast/bagels/danishes, yogurt, fruits, cereals/oatmeal, and boiled eggs, juices and coffee. It was convenient and nice to have. I believe the coffee was available at any given time, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and our stay at La Quinta. I've already recommended it to a couple people and will definitely stay there again in future visits!
Not worth the money

I've paid less to stay in nicer hotels. I understand the hotel was under renovation which did not bother me, but hairs left between the sheets, no towels when we went to swim, dirty toilet, dirty floors and a mediocre continental breakfast had nothing to do with that. The lady that checked us in was nice but the man that replaced her and worked over night was rude. In passing spoke and said good morning, which he ignored to continue playing on his personal laptop. The pool would have been nice to enjoy minus the rowdy children running around unsupervised and extremely noisy. And again was told by evening employee no swim towels available. Room smelled weird and just overall for paying almost $300 a night was not impressed and would not stay again. Plus... weak coffee. The good: nice patio area, spacious rooms, comfort of bed was decent, didn't see any bugs, dented but working fridge, working AC.

If I could give a negative star review- I would. This place is absolutely filthy. Anyone who rated is at clean I seriously am concerned at how your home must look. I have stayed in many pet friendly hotels but never in one where the carpet must be so filled with dog irons that I could not even get my pets nose up off the floor from sniffing all the way down the halls and all over the room. 1. Room smelled like pet urine. 2. Shower stall full of mildew and drain filled with hair. 3. Bright red stain on sheet that looked like blood. 4. Black sticky gunk near foot area of blanket. 5. Outer bedspread was dirty. I laugh at the fact that they want to charge a cleaning fee for pets if they find dog hair on the couch or bed. I found a pile of dog poo in my room in the very early a.m. in the corner and I know it did not belong to my dogs because of the size of the pile of poo and location (they could not have fit). After that we immediately left immediately.
