Two night stay
Opinión escrita el 20 de Septiembre de 2021
Room pleasant enough, clean and comfortable. Possibly worth ringing the hotel direct to get the best price. Booking breakfast the night before is cheaper than just turning up in the morning. I don't see the need to charge an extra £1.95 per person because you have not pre booked, I suggest £11.00 for breakfast is enough anyway.
Avoid this hotel

When checked in we asked about reserving a table for dinner and was told that you don’t need to reserve a table just walk, what we found was that the restaurant is closed and you have to sit in the bar area to get any food.
Also breakfast is served in a bag and placed outside your room - again we were not told about this. You can get a hot roll from reception but when I went to collect ours there were no bacon rolls left!! But no proper cooked breakfast is pretty poor.
As for the spa, the swimming pool had a very noisy kids lesson going on with half the pool roped off. Spin driers for swimming costumes broken in both male and female changing rooms…
They seem to be very short of staff, trying to get served at the bar took ages….
All in all not a very pleasant experience.
Good but watch the air con (or lack of!)

This hotel is fine. Rooms are good mostly. Staff can be helpful when asked. However, some rooms don’t have air conditioning. That’s okay if it’s not warm but it was tough with young children during the July heatwave. Very painful for them.
Very relaxed 24 hour stay

A post-COVID visit to use the gym and spa facilities (pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room).
The visit started well with the location conveniently close to the M5 and free parking with plenty of space.
I followed their advice and booked use of the spa before arriving (and suspect we may not have been able to had we not done this). I believe booking was necessary to limit numbers to manage COVID. One upside was that the facilities was not crowded. The gym did not require booking and had a lot of equipment.
Our booking included breakfast which (for COVID reasons) meant a paper bag of a croissant, muesli yoghurt pot and some juice. However, there was a hot breakfast roll and a Costa coffee which (like our room service dinner) had to be collected from reception or bar. This arrangement worked OK.
The room was clean, modern and tidy. The staff were welcoming.
We'd be happy to revisit to do the same again (especially if we get the good rate again).

AVOID THE MENU!
Purchased 2 deals on Groupon £79 per night which included a bottle of prosecco, breakfast and leisure access....emailed before arriving to confirm they seen our double booking so we could keep the same room on both nights rather than checking out and checking back in they confirmed it was noted and will be fine.
Arrived here 22/08/21 for a belated anniversary
Trip with my husband.. checked in double checked about keeping the same room and the man was non the wiser... but he noted it and "sorted it"... got to the room anf it was lovely and clean... the only down falls were.... no main light in the bedroom only side lights each side of the bed and a table lamp on the desk/dresser.. no light in the bathroom except for the strip above the mirror and no fan or extractor In the bathroom which meant it steamed up and made the whole room very hot after showering.
NIGHT 1: the first evening we decided to order from the bar menu as the restaurant was closed... we had a beef burger which came with 3 onion rings and fries (£15.49) . my husband had a chicken burger with fries (15.49). we also ordered a side of onion rings (£4) and a side of garlic bread (£4) .. totalling to roughly £39.
We decided to have it in our room as the bar was quite busy and loud and didn't wish to eat outside. After ordering and paying we were informed that we should return to our room and they would call and ask us to come back to reception to collect our meals as they dont provide room service.
When taking our food back to the room we discovered what I can only describe as DISASTER!... my burger was like charcoal you could scrape the burnt pieces off and it was like warm... the bun was rock solid, the onion rings were missing, the apparent coleslaw was litterally like water inside the bun and the chips were stone cold... my husbands chicken was rock solid like it'd been over fried... from the freezer into the fryer and just left... his lettuce was soggy and there was no sauce in the bun. Our side of onion rings were lovely... but the garlic bread was also hard and cold.... considering we were on the 1st floor and it litterally took 2/3 minutes to get to the reception there is no reason as to why the food should be so cold and hard. We rang reception to complain and they offered a refund or another meal, we accepted the meal as it was late and we hadn't eaten... and what came the second time was not much better... I will add pictures below..... for the best part of £40 it was a shambles!
BREAKFAST: we weren't informed until we arrived, were given our room key and paper work that there is no cooked breakfast available as stated on the Groupon and webite... instead we received a crussh bag which was left outside our door on the floor this contained, a granola yoghurt, a pastry, bottle of orange juice, fruit pot and a cereal bar. We recieved this on both mornings. Along with a paper voucher which allowed us to go to reception between 7-9am to collect a sausage or bacon bap... being away from the children we obviously wanted a lay in so missed this opportunity where as if it was a cooked breakfast we'd have until 11am and would have had the expected hot/cooked breakfast.
We didn't want to order from the bar menu again so we travelled to the local tesco and grabbed a meal deal for lunch as we had a table booked at GREEK BY THE DOCKS (15 min drive highly recommended this place!!).....
When returning from tesco we went back to our room and the key didn't work.... I went down to reception and spoke to a lovely lady called jenny who reactivated and extended our card. Although we were technically checking in again... we weren't offered clean towels etc and house keeping didn't knock to see if we needed bins emptying.. we even had to ring down for more loo roll.
I was so disappointed with our stay as it is our first trip away since covid. Understanding the regulations (we're from wales) I assumed the restaurant would be open as they are in most places n it ain't written nowhere that it is closed... but to travel that distance and find out we can't have a decent hot meal was shocking. The food standard was rediculous I'm still stunned by the state of our burgers, and waking up to a breakfast bag every day was also a let down. The staff seemed lovely... but I really do think they need to take a look at their menu and chef... and reconsider how they cook and present their meals.
If I had read reviews prior booking, or if it had been stated on the Groupon or the jury inns website that breakfast would be a doggy bag we most certainly wouldn't have gone. And unfortunatly we won't be returning.
