I used to love Staybridge Hotels

I stayed at the Staybridge hotel in Chesapeake Virginia for a week during Thanksgiving. I stayed at many Staybridge hotels over the years and loved it because it offers a kitchen and two bedrooms. However, this Staybridge in Chesapeake Virginia was horrible. Don't get me wrong, the kitchen staff was awesome, as well as the front desk attends. But the hotel itself was just dirty and filthy. My room was very cold every night, I called for maintenance only to be told that the heat was working. I went to the laundry room to wash my clothes, and the laundry room was filthy. When I left the laundry room, my son, his best friend, and I came upon a big pile of dog feces on the rug heading toward our room. I will never stay at a Staybridge again.

The kitchen suite was very well equipped and clean. The suite area a little small but cozy. The bedroom area was a little tight with two queen beds and the bathroom was small and needed to be mopped but adequate. Overall very clean but the foyer hall and elevators needed to be mopped.

Staying here for a few weeks... my first impressions were good. Easy check in, fast, and friendly. Everything works properly. Here is a checklist of all the pros and cons at this Staybridge Suites. STAFF: 5/5 LOCATION: 5/5 CLEANLINESS: 5/5 SOCIAL HOUR: 5/5 POOL: 4/5 PROS: *Plenty of room *Very clean hotel *Pool & Hot tub *Free Wi-Fi & Ethernet Connections; stable *Mon-Wed free food downstairs/social hour *Housekeeping *Staff friendly *Comfy beds & great shower *Location is great *Safe location CONS: (Not really much cons) *Wi-Fi was good, honestly. But the Ethernet speeds weren’t really different from the wireless Wi-Fi. No internet disruption while playing on my PS4. Stated stable, especially considering I’m on the 4th floor sorta in the middle of the hotel. It’s free internet, so you can’t complain.
Not what I was expecting...

I've stayed in StayBridge hotels before, so I booked a room at this hotel with confidence and a certain level of expectation. The check-in process was smooth, and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Then, it all went down hill from there. The room was outdated, in need of dire makeover. Paints were peeling off in several spots (mostly on doors), the furniture seemed very worn out, and, worst of all, the room smelled like someone tried to mask cigarette odor. After the initial night, I was again disappointed, this time at the breakfast bar. The breakfast host seemed more interested in watching the TV than serving the guests. I noticed that they had run out of orange juice, and when I brought it up to her, she said they were out. I was expecting her to fill up the machine with more orange juice from the back, but I was wrong... The breakfast menu also left something to be desired. I hate to say this, but this is the worst StayBridge hotel I've ever stayed at. I don't normally write reviews, but this experience compelled me to write one.
This Hotel Spoils It For Many Others

I visit Virginia often. I mean, probably once a month. It's always nice and I never have a hotel problem, but this one spoils it for all. It's my hands down favorite! The suites are modern and spacious. Full fridge, double queen beds, wine glasses, and two TVs in a one bedroom suite. The staff is lovely and accommodating. The complementary breakfast is good. I generally don't like hotel scramble eggs but this felt like breakfast at home. I plan to try this brand in different states to see how they measure up.
