Don’t Stay Here

Reviewed 24 august, 2020

I went to check out from this hotel and found out my car had two windows smashed. The hotel did nothing to accommodate me except for call non-emergency 911 and implied it was my fault because other cars in the parking lot were fine! Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel! They have 3 cameras at the front desk but don’t have ONE camera outside the facility. They don’t have security either but I guess they need to protect the snacks at the front desk but not their guest’s property.

Don't think I will stay here again

I usually like staying at the Holiday Inn Express. The room was fine and the hotel was decent over all. I'm diamond member of IHG rewards. You suposedly get an upgrade if available but no recognition of my staus nor any mention of an upgrade. The so-called grab and go breakfast was pitiful -- more like something you'd expect at a Super 8 not an HIE. In the bag was either a water, or a juice. No you can't have both and if you get down 45 minutes before the end of breakfast hours you don't even get a choice and good luck on figuring which juice is in the bag as it is stapled very securely shut. Then there is the yogurt -- it is a tiny 4 oz container. You do get a banana and a muffin that is heavy on sugar, many calories and little nutrition.. At another HIE I stayed in a few weeks ago it was much better, Choices for breakfast including cold cereal or a cup of instant oatmeal that you could heat up back in the room's microwave, fruit and more. This Chesapeake Holiday Inn Express could do much better.

clean

This was a clean and well serviced Holiday Inn at a very good location. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The pool and workout room were closed. They handed out bagged breakfast that was just ok compared to what other hotels are doing.

Business Customers Do Not Stay Here

Reviewed 24 february, 2020

After booking over a month ago, I was given a wheelchair accessible room without a standard standing shower. I’m 5’10 and after a long day of work travel just want to take a shower and go to bed. Preferably without the stream hitting my chest or having to hold the hand held over my head. How am I supposed to wash my hair? I asked for another room, but was told they were sold out and there was nothing they can do. Having said that, there were rooms available but assigned to other people. So they were willing to inconvenience me, a guest already here for a room I didn’t not ask for, but not a guest who hasn’t arrived? I also found a card in my room with another guests name and it’s clear they gave my room to someone else. I mean is it so bad to just want to take a regular shower when you’re at a hotel? After traveling all day? I was offered another room “to quickly shower” and was reminded by customer service when I called that I declined that option. I mean really? You want me to grab my bags, hurry to another room while someone watches out and then quickly go back to my room after I shower? Do I run out in my towel too? You really think that’s an option? A resolution? I have never been so inconvenienced at a hotel and im usually pretty accommodating, but I can’t even get the standard accommodations I would have at home AND I’m paying to stay here? The solution was someone would talk to me tomorrow morning. Well guess what, I need to be showered and out by 8am, so there’s nothing you can do to help me then. You really should have told me at the time of booking that this was the only room option available. And to think holiday inn express is a preferred partner with our travel company. I’m staying at a holiday Inn in Nashville later this week and will be cancelling that. I’ve just converted from Hilton properties and now I can see why I stayed with them so long. They would have made it right the second I called.

Noisy hotel

Reviewed 19 january, 2020

Very bad noise insulation. Disturbed by screaming children and loud music from neighbouring rooms throughout our stay. Bad seal on the window which made a wailing noise from the wind all night. Woken up at 6am by someone consistently honking their car horn. Loud slamming room doors disturbed us throughout the night. Only one elevator for the whole hotel, which is unacceptable for a large 4-storey property. Long waits resulted. Arrived to breakfast with half an hour remaining before closing time to find the hot food was depleted and not replenished.
