I stayed one night. my room had a king bed, frig ,coffee maker and large bathroom. it had a beautiful large window with a view of the river. the room was very clean and the sleep number bed was a bonus. I will definitely stay here again. staff is very friendly and helpful.
Hidden Gem!
Riverside Hotel was wonderful for our autumn weekend getaway! Our room was perfection! All rooms seem to come with a private balcony and view of the river, but we had a corner room with two walls of windows and a huge L-shaped balcony. The view of the Connecticut River highlighted by fall foliage was spectacular. The room itself was large, nicely decorated, and spotless. The king-sized sleepnumber bed was a pleasant surprise! Staff could not have been friendlier, and front desk was very helpful with local recommendations. Highly recommend.
Balcony rooms overlooking the Connecticut River
I stayed here a week in August as a last minute vacation during social distancing. Loved it! Rooms are huge! Balcony rooms overlook the Connecticut River. It was cool and breezy enough even in the 1st week of Aug that most nights I left my balcony slider doors open. The hotel's dock gives easy access to the river. Swam in the Connecticut River almost every day. Very peaceful. Brattleboro is 5 minutes west. Keene is about 20 minutes east. If your budget allows, recommend getting balcony room. Tip - I booked on-line for a balcony room, but when I checked in at about 8 pm, only "terrace" rooms (1st floor) were available. They were able to move me to a higher floor the next night for the rest of my stay. Reception guy said that if you really want a balcony room (2nd or 3rd floor), make reservations by calling the hotel directly. Noting that the area around that southwestern corner of NH is quite rural. Quiet. Peaceful.
Best Hotel I have ever stayed
Hotel is Updated and very Clean. Room are very large and clean. Bathroom is renovated and very clean. Beautiful view over the river. Staff is outstanding and took all precautions amid the Corona virus epidemic. Cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. 6 stars instead of 5 Thanks for the hospitality. Will definitely visit again
Ideal Location for Exploring VT and Amazing Views
The views from the rooms at this hotel are amazing. Right on the river, and you can even walk down to a nice dock with seating. It was beautiful in the summer and I'm sure fantastic when the fall colors come along. In fact, we're thinking about booking in October just to experience the fall colors at the hotel and in the area! Lovely location right on the Vermont border. In fact, you pass the welcome to Vermont sign but it's a side road and still considered New Hampshire. The bridge right past the hotel leads to a rotary that leads almost directly into Brattleboro, VT and has several restaurants not even five minutes from the hotel. I will warn there is a lot of fast moving traffic trying to cross over and go that direction so be careful. The hotel has plenty of parking and our check-in was a breeze. No extras like breakfast and no room cleaning due to the current restrictions. The receptionist was very personable and friendly while we checked in and even moreso when we were leaving (she let me know how beautiful it is in the fall). The elevator is right next to the reception desk and super fast. We never had much of a wait for it. The room was awesome. A sleep number bed which I've never seen in a hotel before. We played with it and I determined the factory setting was the best but very cool to experience. Our window and view was right out onto the river and just gorgeous. The bathroom was huge and the shower was very strong and we had no issues with the hot water. The fridge worked great - no worries at all about space or things not staying cool. The television was just okay. Something was off with the color that we couldn't fix. Our only complaint (and really this is more a 4.5 rated stay than 4) was the noise. On Thursday, no one was around so it was very quiet, however, once guests started showing up on Friday we realized how thin the walls are. We could hear normal speaking guests in the hallway, in the room next door and on the balcony next to the room as if they were in our room. Very distracting and not their fault just the fact the walls are thin. We also noticed on Friday that the fridge started making a weird sound like an angry wasp. We were woken up on Saturday morning by people enjoying the next door open balcony and they weren't making much noise it just was very jarring, almost like they were talking inside our room. That's really just a minor complaint though as the views, price, location and service more than make up for any noise although it might be a different story had we had truly loud neighbors. We really can't wait to go back in the Fall!
