Fantastic Stay!
Reviewed 22 february, 2023
Stayed here two nights last month while I was in town for work. OUTSTANDING hotel staff. From the doorman when I arrived to the front desk staff to housekeeping and the restaurant staff-I saw nothing but smiles and staff helping guest without having to be asked. Marriott should use this hotel as a training guide for all new employees!

Cleanliness/upkeep issues
Reviewed 23 january, 2023
Used to be a great new hotel, close to McCormick. However there are some major issues that need attention. 1) cleanliness - when I checked in early, there was a HUGE clump of hair on the washroom garbage can as well as around the toilet. Asked to change room. They said not possible despite checking in early. 2) upkeep - many of the carpet tiles in the room had black, sticky substance on them. Just added to the general unclean feeling of the room. Could not sit on couch as it was right in front of it. Also, no real recognition of my status. Disappointed as this was a great option next to McCormick, despite the longer walk that from the Hyatt.

Great Convention Center Hotel
Reviewed 17 january, 2023
We were there as a family for a tournament. The hotel is huge and you don’t have to go outside to get to the convention center, which was nice in January . The beds were beyond comfortable and the staff was super friendly and helpful .

Okay Stay

I’m a Titanium Member and expected a nicer welcome from the front desk. When we arrived late in the night the front desk man was not very welcoming. He had no smile on his face nor did he thank us for being a Titanium member, rather he seemed annoyed by our presence. He gave us no complimentary water upon check in when ALL Marriot hotels do for Titanium members. He never explained the elevators to us either, there were several different elevators for different levels on the left and right side of the building. When I asked the front desk for a bellman instead he pushed a luggage cart to me to load and take up to my room rather than calling a bellman or helping me with it. He was not even kind enough to help me load my heavy bags onto it! Instead me and my small child had to push it thru the hall with no direction from him to which elevator to take up to floor 28! Instead a friendly security man was kind enough and had helped us. The next day I sent a msg thru the app requesting some water since the M lounge was also closed during our entire stay. The chat rep said to come down to the front desk and the water bottles are complimentary for Titanium members. When I went down the same rude man was there at the front desk and again mentioned to me that there’s no water left because the “group drank it all”. When I was persistent and told him the chat rep told me I can come get some water from front desk than after 10 long minutes he suddenly found some water. I don’t understand why he was avoiding to give us any water even? Requesting late check out as a Titanium member was a struggle aswell. I was barely able to get 2pm when the Marriot website guarantees 4pm check out for Titanium members. So there are no member benefits at this property. Since the M lounge was closed for breakfast they gave a $20 food voucher, which barely covered a coffee for 1 person and 2 bakery items for 2 ppl which came out to over $25 plus tax + $5 room service fee. The breakfast from the restraunt is not good, the french toast was extremely dry and hard, my child almost choked on it and was unable to chew it properly. The views from the room are amazing but the front desk staff is not welcoming AT ALL and need better customer service training. The other staff members in the hotel were polite, including the bellman who helped us out on check out. The rooms are clean and spacious but next yr I will stay at the Hyatt near the convention center.

Great place if you are going to a conference at the McCormick Center
Reviewed 14 december, 2022
The hotel is connected to the conference center by indoor bridges and halls, so you don't have to go outside to attend the conference. The room is large and the temperature is easy to control, with silent ventilation. There are a very large TV and many outlets on the desk and the nightstand for your devices. Unfortunately the neighborhood is not brimming with places to eat, but that is not the hotel's fault. And you can get here by train from O'Hare to a station a couple blocks away.
