Needs Some Updating

Reviewed 27 february, 2022

Positives first- good location opposite the Cenote and they have two pools which are welcome as its pretty hot. The aircon works, hot water in the shower and the sheets clean. Negatives its really tired the curtains havent seen a duster in many years, the doors are split and rotting the bathroom bit mouldy. It needs a lick of paint and some attention to detail. Food is average, breakfast is provided and is a decent serving. Wi Fi only by the pool and in the restaurant. Take your bug spray its in the middle of the jungle. I didnt do a huge price comparison for what was available in the area but I suspect this is a cheap hotel in a very busy area.

Great Price Value

The price value is great. The people are really friendly and they offer a free shuttle to Chichen Itza. The pool is a nice cool down after Chichen Itza. The road which is right next to it is really loud, otherwise I would definitely recommend Doralba Inn.

Really good for the price

Reviewed 17 december, 2021

For the price we paid, we had a very good experience. Yes, it’s next to a main road, but it’s a 7 minute drive to Chichen itzá. The price included breakfast which was scrambled eggs with ham and toast/cake with jam. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. The bathrooms smelled, but you’re in the middle of the jungle, not in a five star resort. The aircon worked perfectly and the evening food was inexpensive, generous and decent (not a huge amount of choice but something for everyone), and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

(H)otel? Motel...

Directly adjacent to the highway this motel feels loveless and deserted even when there are people there. The promised free 8 o'clock shuttle didn't leave until much later, the food was nightmarish and the safe was broken. Nevertheless the room was clean and the staff was shy/awkward but friendly enough.

Pleasant setting but a lot of noise from the road

Reviewed 17 january, 2020

We stayed 2 nights in the Doralba (aka Dolores Alba). The room was clean and comfortable though basic. The pool makes a nice centre and having the restaurant next to it gives a pleasant place to relax. The food is ok, edible but with a fairly limited menu- being out of the town meant that we ate there for most meals. 2 main issues. First, service was slow particularly at breakfast - we booked a taxi for 7.30 to take us to the ruins before they opened at 8, and we were so glad we had. We found there was already a queue at 7.45, but the people who went with the hotel shuttle bus had to wait until everyone had finished breakfast, so by the time they arrived at 8.45 the site was already packed. Secondly, the hotel is right on the road. We had expected the traffic noise to reduce after dark but there were a lot of heavy lorries going past during the night. On the second night we kept the aircon on, even though the night was cool, so that the white noise helped to reduce the traffic noise. Overall a pleasant place to stay with a few (manageable) glitches.
