As a frequent traveler I can confidently say Im able to offer a great review of a property. I have a realistic expectation when checking into a property with a motel type of setup and my expectations are realistic when booking with a RedRoof property. My initial impression of this property upon pulling into the parking lot were it was relatively clean looking as was the Lobby. I checked in a little early and was warmly greeted by Sam. He accommodated me before standard check in time and was genuinely friendly. When i got to my room I was pleased with the overall esthetic. It appeared clean, fresh and updated. As my stay progressed I did start to notice some areas that could benefit from a managment walk around of the entire property to address issues I noticed in my room and which I suspect may exist in other rooms. I had a question for the front desk and when I went to use my phone it had no labels and no cords. I took the entire phone to the front desk and this is where my loyalty to the redroof chain began to come into question. There was a female worker at the front desk talking on speaker phone on her personal cell phone. I waited a moment to see if I would become a priority and I got the irritated look you get from someone. I asserted myself and said if this is a bad time I can come back. Her response “ what did you need?” I think its important to mention there was also a child behind the front desk with her which i found to be completely inappropriate. I told her about my phone situation and she said with that same cold stare “ i don’t have one but ill write it down” and she did so in her little journal. My comforter had cigarette burns as did the toilet seat. My toilet was also not properly bolted to the ground so it was a balancing act. The walls surrounding the toilet were filthy and you could see dried fluids running down the wall. The toilet area actually reminded me of a restroom you would find in a high volume event where outhouses were in use and you have to squat as to not make contact with the toilet. Both the tub and the sink had no drain stoppers so i had to shave by putting water in the ice bucket. Trash cans around the property were overflowing and don’t even think about going into the pool which should be called a swamp or a nesting habitat for mosquitos or other flying insects. On a very positive note I interacted with two housekeeping staff and they were very friendly and very hard working. The two housekeepers I saw were working very hard and i saw this as my room was located near the supply area they go to and restock their carts. I think a lot of the issues I observed were not a result of a lack of a hard working staff members but not enough people on the team which is the case these days across the country so i get it but when Im spending over $100 a night as the consumer I should also be allowed to express my disappointment. My final recommendation on this property, do some price comparisons before booking. The San Diego area was very expensive for my recent stay and this place was the best of the more economically priced properties with an out the door total for 2 days of $251. Sam and the housekeepers would be the only reason i would even consider staying here again.

These motel is one of the best motel I have ever visited Red roof plus chula vista the name itself and a plus. The rooms are near and clean, the front desk and the manager are very polite and professional specially the front desk guy (Krish) with their work. I have been in the line but never felt any ignorance from the staff even the room service is too good. They provide amenities like laundry, free WiFi, pool, wanding machines and the house keeping staff are one the friendliest staff I had ever mate. The scenic view and the cleanliness add cherry on the cake and even they are affordable too.

Pet friendly and family suite! Top floor, beautiful view. The rooms were super clean and smelled amazing! Reasonable price. There were also a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. We were very fortunate to find this place on line. We had to move out of our home of 8 years and had no place to stay. They were so understanding to our situation, they went above and beyond to help us. The showed great empathy for a family in need, we are extremely great full. We were only supposed stay 1 week but ended up staying 3 weeks. All the staff was so professional and super sweet. Thank you Sam & Maggie for everything! Definitely recommend this place.
