Not up to par

Tho pros:, The staff is nice. The beds are comfy. The location is very Central to everything you could want in CDMX. The cons: This place is in desperate need of a makeover. The lobby is shameful. The decor is 1991. Not up to snuff by Marriott standards. The restaurant is meh, which in a place like Mexico City is not good enough.

We had a very nice visit at Le Meridien in CDMX. Our trip was especially great because of the service we encountered from Jonathan Sanchez & Abel at La Gloriosa. Talking to Jonathan about how the food was prepared (and some great recommendations for Veracruz) was fantastic. Be sure to say hi to the fellas and tip well!
Week in CDMX, touring

spent a week here, a very nice facility - right off Reforma, but our room was very quiet, did not hear any street noise, but had a great view of Reforma going south/west. The front desk always helpful. Doormen were always there and very helpful on arrival and leaving as well as during the week. when we left we were on the wrong side of reforma during a big parade, they helped us getting a taxi on the far side of the street, and rolled the suitcases across the large boulevard for us. The restaurant - La Gloriosa was a great place for breakfast, brunch and dinner. Big shoutouts to Jonathan, and Philippe for the great service during our meals. The hosts were very helpful, my wife took the hosts for concierge services for the hotel initially, and asked the restaurant host a few times for things for our room, graciously a call was made to the front desk and we got what we needed! Will stay there next time we need to stay in central CDMX - personnel fab, room/suite comfortable, quiet, spacious. Expectations Exceeded!
Very nice and excellent service. 4 diamonds

Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. When I checked in, I was greeted by a friendly host and was given my key cards immediately. The bellhop came with me to the elevator and also informed the locations of all facilities, and that it is necessary to scan your card to access the floors. Upon entering the room, I was greeted to a very clean and quite spacious room. The living room has a very nice couch with about 55 inch tv. The bathroom was nice and just right amount of space. There was a mini bar with a small fridge and microwave, but there was no honor bar due to COVID. However, there was tea and coffee available. The bedroom had 2 queen beds, a small office space, and another 55 inch tv. There was also a closet with a small safe. While the beds were on the firmer side, it was quite comfortable and slept pretty well. The tv were mostly consist of Spanish channels and there were a generous amount of them. There were also the streaming apps as well. The bathroom was nice and clean, but I did find it a bit difficult to flush the toilet and lock the door. The shower was quite nice and just the right amount of pressure. There was no trouble getting hot water, but the tub is quite deep. The bathroom amenities were very nice by Malin & Goetz. The public area are nothing too luxurious, but definitely in the upscale area. The lobby is a bit small, but has a small lounge area to relax. The downstairs area also had a small seating area which was comfortable. The bar was closed due to COVID, but the restaurant was open and had good food. The gym was small, but had good equipment. The indoor pool was nicely sized, but no toys or inflatables were allowed. The music is upscale lounge music that is the signature of Le Meridien chain, and it is played in the elevator as well. The food is the restaurant was quite good and the breakfast was included in my rate. The breakfast was quite generous and had American and Mexican options. Food was pretty good and service was excellent. I must say that the service here makes the hotel 4 diamonds. It was quite personalized and the staff is here to take care of you. The people are very friendly and helpful. Kudos to Jose, Jonathan, Antonio, Igman, and many others for their amazing service. They were always there to answer questions, provide advice, help with bags, open doors, and just take care of you. It's the genuine service that you get like in Ritz Carlton or other high class hotels. While there was no official concierge desk due to COVID, many of the staff knew the area and were able to provide tour and restaurant advice. It's this kind of service that makes it a Marriott quality (very high). Overall, this is definitely a 4 diamonds hotel that I can highly recommend if you want a nice suite and great service. The location is near the major attractions, but please do be aware of the heavy traffic. It is best to use an Uber or hotel taxi. I was able to get this hotel for a very nice rate (106 per night after taxes which included breakfast). While tipping isn't mandatory, please do tip the staff as they work hard for you. I will indeed visit again when I come to Mexico City.
