Dangerous night...
· There was NO ONE at the property at nighttime. The people above us had a medical emergency and banged on my door. I called the property number which went right to VM. I spent 45 minutes getting an ambulance to the property at 2 am. Me and my child got no sleep.. That combined with the spiders in my child’s bed, did not equal a good stay. Even without that nightmare, I couldn’t recommend it. The room was sparsely furnished, there was little resemblance to the advertised accommodations. We told the caretaker, Patrick, of the problems and he shrugged his shoulders, gave us a bottle of wine, and checked us out . He claimed there was an “emergency number”, which was not given to us at check-in. We were also not told we were completely alone. Scary for a father and his young daughter.
A wonderfully relaxing holiday
We were treated like royalty at this incredible location. We used it as a base to explore the surrounding areas and enjoyed a day relaxing the surroundings and tasting the wine! The food was incredible and the hospitality was out of this world. Would hugely recommend
Highly Recommended
We wanted a base to explore the Tuscan countryside and villages, enjoy good food and drink great wine. Aside from the location, we chose Antico Casale L'Impostino as the reviews looked good on all counts - especially the food. We were not disappointed. First, be aware that the estate is off the beaten track and you will need to drive everywhere. If you want a lively environment, this isn’t for you. Our rooms were adequate rather than luxurious - although the most important things, the bed and shower, were better than average. Everything else was superb. The setting is spectacular, with views across the hills and vineyards, a well-kept grass area with plenty of sun-beds, a nice pool, and beautiful gardens full of flowers and herbs. Fabio is an experienced chef and cooks the set-priced four-course dinners which we had 5 times during our week-long stay. The meals were high quality and very good value. Alongside the food, Fabio offers his own wines, grown on the estate. We tried most of these and all were very, very good. So good, we asked Fabio to ship a couple of crates to our UK address, which he was happy to do. In summary, we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday, with lovely food, great wine and close to some stunning villages. If ever in the area in the future, we would definitely stay there again.
Wine Wedding At Antico Casale
My experience at Antico was absolutely incredible, and one I will NEVER forget. My husband and I booked Fabio's villa to house some of our wedding guests as well as have our wedding reception at. We booked his villa 15 months in advance. He was extremely communicative and offered everything and more we were looking for. His food absolutely incredible and his vineyard was so awesome to walk through. He cooks everything on property and helped us find vendors for our wedding. The rooms were so quaint and perfect for a 5 day, 4 night stay. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and day after brunch on the property and everyone raved about the food. They still do! I could never have imagined our wedding would have been as perfect as it was there. Fabio made the experience absolutely unforgettable and I promise you that we will be back next year for our 1 year anniversary. If you have the opportunity to do, please stay here. His family is so welcoming and you will feel right at home. It's absolutely picturesque and perfect.
Peaceful
A nice hotel set in 20 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Tuscany, very friendly service and simple and effective dinners served with excellent house wines. Nice breakfast and the homemade cakes are excellent. The place may lack the refined touches of some other options in Tuscany but is overall a very pleasant place to relax for a few days, a short drive away from Petriolo hotsprings.
