Not the hotel it used to be

I haven’t left a review in several years but staying here has motivated me to start again. I travel for business and spend about 75-80 nights a year in hotels almost solely at Hilton properties. I’m a frequent traveler to Cleveland and this hotel used to be one of my favorites although my last visit was in early 2020 prior to the pandemic. It’s right across the street from Progressive field and convenient access from the interstate and I looked forward to visiting again while in town for a family event. Unfortunately this hotel has taken a HUGE downturn since last time I was here. The living area was dirty, very outdated and worn out. 3 of the 4 light bulbs in our bathroom were burnt out, the refrigerator did not work and was missing shelves, and the shower head was covered in red mold around the nozzle. As a bonus the ice machine on our floor was out of order as well. The one positive was the staff, the young lady at the front desk who checked us in (I believe her name was Phanny) was very overwhelmed with a line of people checking in and received at least 6 phone calls while I was standing there from people complaining about their rooms. I overheard her call maintenance multiple times including for a broken heater, a broken tv and a broken refrigerator. While she was trying to check me in someone called down and was yelling so loudly over the phone that I could hear them on the other side of the counter. The entire time she was very friendly, smiling and apologetic. She apologized multiple times to me for my wait and honestly couldn’t have been any nicer considering what she was dealing with. The gentleman who works in maintenance who came up to replace the light bulbs was also very friendly and apologetic. The staff members that I interacted with deserve a better product from whoever runs this place. Overall I’m very disappointed in how current ownership has let this place slip. I will not be back until it’s been cleaned up and renovated.

Dangerous and Dirty

Upon arrival to my hotel there was no security in the parking lot it was men walking around. I have checked in with my digital key and it did not work so I stopped at the front desk- girl was pleasant. When I went up to my room the door had greasy fingerprint marks the hotel was dirty smelly and sprayed with some nasty room spray- . So I called Hilton honors to get me out of their into another hotel. The general did not credit my room and charged me 130$ plus parking! I was in the hotel 10mins.

Rooms can be more clean staff more prepared for customer check in rooms weren’t ready upon arrival waited an hour or for 3 rooms over hour for 4th room rooms could also use seven updates fresh paint beds made properly even replace beds there was a big dip in bed as of it was broken or wore down

Gross Pool, Overpriced.

Hot tub was infested with mildew. Had to shower for half an hour to get the smell off. Horribly disgusting. Hilton support waived my 20$ parking fee (which I didn't even know about when I booked) to say sorry. I paid >300 for my stay. Dead spiders and trash in our room. Overpriced and dirty. Would not recommend. If staff are skipping basic maintenance like chlorination of a hot tub.. it really make you wonder what else they are not doing.

Very disappointed in service. We are people who take care of ourselves and mostly do not avail ourselves of housekeeping services .We understand that there are constraints on service due to the pandemic, but no service AT ALL for visitors staying less than 10 days? None? What are we supposed to do when baskets are overflowing, or when the towel supply is depleted? We needed fresh sheets, so we asked at the front desk for them yesterday. They did not arrive, so we asked last night. They did not arrive, so we saw a room service person on our floor this morning and asked her. She said she would communicate our request to somebody. This afternoon, STILL not here. Upon my fourth request in two days, I got them from someone at the front desk. Should it be that hard? Without the nuisance of lousy service, the fact that there is almost nothing on tv except networks, that pay per view movies cost $20, that there is complimentary coffee in the lobby (the nearest coffee shop is a third of a mile away) might not have occasioned comment. But the overall experience is not great. I will say that every hotel employee we engaged with was kind and attentive. How things are structured for guest satisfaction is not optimal.
