Great location for a special anniversary
Opinión escrita el 12 de Abril de 2021
We stayed from Sunday through Friday for our 25th anniversary. First in the tropical suites then moved to the tiki suites. We can't say enough about the staff - Cindi, Rosalind, Andres, Allan, Javier and Elias. They were so very professional and helpful every day. The owner, Hilda, impressed us by coming to every guest table and speaking with each party. She is one outstanding hostess/owner. The resort itself is a place away from the crowds but very relaxing and comfortable. One drawback might be the road entrance to the property which is not paved and (at the time we went) very dusty. The food is excellent and of large quantities.
Great Location and Great Staff

I stayed in the main hotel and one of the Tiki Suites. The best things about the hotel are its location on a lovely stretch of beach and the hotel staff, who were friendly and attentive. The main hotel felt a little dated, the furnishings were on the older side, the showers had luke warm water and the toilet only flushed OK. The Tiki Suites were better furnished and somewhat larger but not nearly as private as I thought from the pictures. The gravelly white area in front of the suites are the main entrance to the hotel and restaurant so there is a lot of foot traffic and some cars cruising between the suites and the views much of the day. For privacy you have to keep your curtains closed, which also closes off the views. I'd suggest you stay in the main hotel as all rooms have direct views of the beach.
Ideally located friendly gem of a resort right on the beach but away from the crowds

Tango Mar is a gem. It is nestled in Costa Rico’s Nicoya Peninsula, which is on the Pacific side of Costa Rico but away from the mobs of people populating the large Pacific Coast Costa Rican resorts. My husband and I stayed a Tango Mar for just under two weeks over the Christmas holidays in 2018.
We have traveled over many parts of the world and have stayed in many resorts and excellent hotels. Yet, at the end of our stay here in December of 2018, we concluded that Tango Mar was perhaps our best vacation ever. The property is magnificent: a palm-ringed sandy beach, the constant sound of the Pacific Ocean breaking on the beach, and all of this backed by tropical gardens. There is a variety of accommodations to choose from. We stayed on one of the six Tiki Huts. The room was immaculately clean, comfortable, large but not overstated, and had its own Jacuzzi in addition to a large shower. There was more hot water than one could use. The morning breakfast buffet met the standards of a buffet at a first-rate hotel and the fresh eggs from chickens kept on the property were a special treat. Lunch was offered at the spring-fed pool – actually three interconnected pools, the largest an infinity pool with a Jacuzzi and wet bar just a few steps from the ocean and its crashing surf. Dinner is in the open-air space where the breakfast buffet is offered but for dinner that venue is converted into a romantic, candle-lighted veranda overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is plenty of variety on the dinner menu to permit different choices over a normal stay, including a different soup choice everyday. With all that this resort offers, its best resource may be the extraordinarily welcoming feel one gets from the ownership and staff. Tango Mar has been in operation for approximately seventeen years under the ownership of a remarkable Belgian family. The resort is lovingly managed by the owner, Hilde Cloet who was there when we were there. The charming and intelligent Mrs. Cloet personally greets each guest at dinner, chats for a minute, and assures that everyone’s needs are being met. The staff, to a person, brings that same authentic welcome to every guest’s stay. The sense one gets is being welcomed to join the Cloet family for a quiet and relaxing stay surrounded by nature’s splendor at a medium-sized Costa Rican resort. For those inclined toward an active vacation, the property’s golf course beckons as well as horseback riding on the beach. And there are many activities off the property for those wishing to explore Costa Rico. We met mostly Europeans, far fewer Americans, but many whom we met were return patrons.
Relax and enjoy the good food and scenery

When we arrived we were welcomed by the staff and the owner (who is from Belgian origin, so we could speak our native language). She told us that this place is paradise for her and we can understand why. The resort is located near a beautiful beach with great sunrise views, a waterfall that drops into the ocean and a lot of variety in birds, monkeys, reptiles and butterflies. If we someday return to Costa Rica, this will too be one of the places we will return to.
The rooms were looking great, they were clean and the staff was always bringing us where we needed with a golf-cart, if the climb was to steep for my wife.
The food was excellent and as I noticed in a lot of places in Costa Rica, they are also very humorous!
