Very Accommodating
When traveling back and forth from MN to FL I always choose between Hampton Inns and another comparable Inn. I split the difference both ways and my experiences with Hampton were consistently better than the other. I felt they took Covid protocols seriously and that I was confident I was in safe hands. This was not true for the other. Employees always were in masks and I believed the rooms were cleaned to my safety standards. Next year I won’t split the difference. My four nights lodging will all be Hampton Inns.
Don’t Stay Here
This hotel should not have Hampton Inn name. It needs a complete remodel Air conditioner in our room was plugged and all the water was leaking into our room on the carpet. The sofa was so old and stained that I covered it with towels before sitting on it (room 106). Breakfast was a joke. Shouldn’t even bother. I talked to the person at the desk before we left and she nonchalantly said “ok” to everything I said Had just spent five nights at a Home2 in Florida— this place should take a lesson!
Light Sleepers-Never Take an Odd-Numbered Room
The Hampton Inn Columbia looks like it has been used pretty hard. The staff is nice and works to satisfy guest concerns. For instance, I had requested a quiet room (away from highway, elevator, stairs and vending) because I am a light sleeper. When I arrived (8:30 pm), no rooms away from the highway were available. I tried an odd-numbered room (rooms that face the highway). I had no idea that the room would sound like it was in the median of I-65! Every 20 seconds another big semi would roar through the room. I didn't sleep. The next morning the staff kindly found another room on the back of the hotel that worked well. I appreciate the staff's work.
Business stop in Columbia
We had business in Columbia and stayed here one night. We weren't familiar with the area, but this hotel, and several others, are on I-65 and not really that close to what I would call downtown Columbia, We were surprised that is was a little ways to get to town. The hotel was clean, but has definitely seen some traffic. I am sure it is a popular stop on the interstate. There were even a couple tour buses there, which i did not expect during COVID times. We were given a very quiet room on the end of the hotel. We were also able to park our truck and covered trailer in a well lit part of the parking lot next to the pool area. The room is not very dark at night and while the traffic noise did not bother us, the ac had a dripping sound when it would start up that did wake us up some. This hotel is close to several other hotels, a Cracker Barrel, and a Waffle House.
