Front staff was rude. We requested a room for pets. They booked us in a King suite no pets allowed. Front end girl rudely told me I wouldn’t have mentioned the pet but I did. When staff left right after my check in I head the next person say the exact same thing. Door and window locks didn’t work, room was dirty my dogs fish was filled with hundreds of bugs. Only guy a muffin and granola bar in a bag if you ask for breakfast. No one ever at the front desk. Manager was inconsiderate when I complained.

This hotel advertises free breakfast but it does not have one. Landscaping materials blocking handicapped parking. Empty or not working vending machines. The staff was friendly, clean rooms with tiny pillows.
Details - why this hotel isn’t as bad as some of the reviews.

The nitty gritty: not nearly as bad as many reviews made it out to be. I have stayed at gross/questionable hotels passing through Columbia and had concern looking at reviews. I arrived late afternoon after booking through my Wyndham App. My room looked pretty much like what was shown on the app photos. If there is any question - it is located next to a harley dealer and you have to drive through a strip mall lot to get to it. The Good - our room was clean - linens clean, walls clean, floors clean - check. TV, small fridge, microwave if you need them - check. Comfortable bed, No sign of bugs, no exceptionally strange odors - though it had a cover up odor - like when they try to remove cigarette odor without replacing drywall. No musty smell. The Bad - I think it would go a long way in improving their image if they cleaned the front/glass doors and handles. They WERE gross - covered in fingerprints and greezy looking . Major turn off especially when people are more conscientious about germs and how disgusting humans can be. It looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a month versus several times a day so that’s a bad first impression on what their overall cleanliness might be. Fingerprints in the elevator as well. The lobby walls, floors, counter and germ shield at the desk looked clean. Hosing off the front concrete and killing the weeds once in a while would go a long way for curb appeal. The Shabby - Furnishings were clean but old and in rough shape - laminate had been peeled off the edges of the nightstands. A small spot in the carpeting had been cut out and replaced. Yes there was some poorly done wall repair near the window and some hairline cracks in the bathroom tile floor. But everything appeared to be quite clean and fairly recently painted. They don’t seem to use the proper cleaning products - so some of the surfaces in common areas looked “smeary” and “foggy”. You could see they like bleach. the wood baseboard moulding was bleached at the bottom. They are clearly cleaning and disinfecting. But some of the surfaces look bad anyway - Get some Windex, proper products for stainless steel and hard surfaces and get rid of the stinky reviews. The Other - there’s a Harley Dealer next door - which is a plus for security - cameras etc. There were 2 cats staring down from a second floor window - ok, that was cute. There was a hot tub in our room. How very 1992 of you! Ok with me, I won’t be using it. The guy at check in was super friendly and genuine. If that is their normal desk service idk who would complain. If you are allergic to children - looks like the pool area may cater to families - idk - I was there on an off day. Is the place across the freeway nicer and newer? Yes? Is the other place worth twice the price? No.... Maybe if you are staying several nights, on a vacation, aren’t looking to manage your overhead....Would I stay here again? Yes. If i am driving through Columbia or here overnight, definitely.

The staff is insanely rude, and will do the absolute minimum to help with any situation. Wifi doesn’t work and the police are always getting called to this location. No one wears a mask. Children are constantly running around.
