Our room was big and beautiful with an awesome view of the Conneticut River. Being we were there in January there wasn't much open but we managed to find things to do. Our moose hunting was unsuccessful but was fun with lots of laughs. Pam and Karen were wonderful.

We stayed here for 2 nights towards the end of our 2 week road trip around New England. It was easily the nicest (and one of the cheapest) places that we stayed. Located on the banks of the Connecticut River and surrounded by trees turning all sorts of colours it was a great location (although it's quite close to the main road). The room was large, bright, clean and well decorated (a great contrast to one or two places we'd stayed in during our trip). We had a minor problem with the in-room safe as the batteries had died but it was fixed within minutes by the very friendly lady who had checked us in earlier. The bed was large and comfortable and there were the usual tea/coffee/tv/wifi amenities which all worked well. The bathroom felt slightly dated compared to the main room but it was large, clean and everything worked well. The hotel doesn't serve any food (including no breakfast) and there's not really much in the immediate vicinity so you're probably going to have to drive out somewhere for dinner so make sure you stock the fridge up with a few drinks ready for when you get back from dinner! Overall this was a lovely place to stay and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.

After a long day of driving and looking at the gorgeous fall colors we checked into this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. We had debated staying in Vermont our last night or NH and opted for the Riverside Hotel. Our room was on the second floor and had a big balcony overlooking the beautiful river, colorful trees, and across the river....Vermont. We sat on the balcony without unpacking and just took in the beauty and serenity. Ducks swam by on the calm water. We lingered to watch the sunset and decided to find a restaurant from the long list provided by the front desk. Most of them were closed on Monday or closed early so we just went exploring. We did find a nice place for breakfast the following day as no meals are available at this hotel. There is not even a microwave in the room. I asked about that and was directed one floor below the lobby to a large meeting room that easily could have been made into a breakfast room. It had the only microwave in the place. Why they haven't converted this area to a breakfast room I don't know but this is our second experience with a hotel in the "Ascend Collection" and that was the same story there in California. I think today's traveler looks for something quick and easy and breakfast at the hotel allows more time for sightseeing and travel.

Cleanest Hotel Ever!

I'm a big fan of Tripadvisor but I'm guilty of never writing a review. I have intended to write negative and positive reviews in the past but life always got in the way after returning home. Not this time. My breath was taken away the moment I walked into the lobby by the incredible view. Timing is everything and when I walked in the sun was hitting the water in a way creating a rainbow of beautiful reflections. That was just my first impression. Check-in was super easy, quick, warm, and welcoming. Our room was spacious, cozy, and CLEAN! I'm a clean freak at times driving my wife nuts with my cleanliness. This place outdid me. I felt so at home and relaxed, just because of the cleanliness. It was spotless! The view from the room was stunning and our little porch area was perfect to enjoy a morning coffee and an evening cocktail. Superb! There was incredible hiking and biking right from the hotel. Be sure to check out Madam Sheri Forest. Downtown Brattleboro has some wonderful eateries and shops. Be sure to bring your own snacks and drinks, not much is available after 9:00 PM. Time spent at The Riverside Hotel was the perfect way to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Thank you....for a real good time!

Excellent accommodations close to highway- but need to CARRY IN ANY FOOD OR DRINK BECAUSE NO OFFERINGS AT HOTEL!

This is a beautifully situated, easy to access, modern hotel just off the highway in NH. The staff is lovely and EXTREMELY accommodating! We applaud the manager, Ms. Pam Griffith for fostering the higher level of professional customer service. The ONLY reason we did not give it a 5 rating, is because there is no option to obtain ANY FOOD or DRINK at this hotel, even through a vending machine and if you arrive after 9pm, there are almost no options to purchase food nearby except McDonalds off rotary. In morning no coffee to purchase or light breakfast times. It appears they have a beautiful function/dining area right next to check in. We would have been HAPPY to pay for ANYTHING to eat/drink, take to go from there.
