Bad A/C, bad odors, bad lighting, key card readers that don't work and ROACHES

I should have checked out the Trip Advisor reviews before booking this property. The lobby was hot when we walked in as was our room. Had we not been so tired after a 10 hour flight, we would have turned around and left. The whole place smelled of dog urine and the carpet in our room was so dirty and ripped and roaches were crawling in and out of the dishwasher. Oh and let's don't forget the hateful attitude of the desk clerk when we couldn't get the back door card reader to open and she had to come open the door to let us in. Very rude!! DO NOT stay at this hotel!

We checked in due to a water main break issue. As soon as we walked in we saw a roach on the counter and it climbed into the dishwasher and it was closed. Roaches on the countertop and coming up through the kitchen sink drain!!!! We killed at least 10 of them, and they told me they spray weekly!!! Gross will never go there again and we live in the area!!!! Attached is a picture of one that we killed on the countertop, that I showed to the front counter worker on March 1st when I checked in!!! They told customer service where I booked the motel that evening that the evening workers could not refund my money and I would have to talk to the manager in the morning. In the morning they were rude and I did not get a refund!!! Will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!

My flight coming back from Barbados was delayed due mechanical issues. After reaching Miami my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked on a flight for the next day. I called the Candlewood Suites to notify the hotel that my flight was cancelled. On the first call Chris hung up the phone on me. One the second call he stated that hotel was nearly sold out and he held my room after 6pm and I would be charged for that night's stay. Mind you I am 25 year veteran in the hotel industry and I know if a guest calls and has a cancelled flight or any issue that can be verified the hotel will waive the charges for that night as courtesy. I did file a complaint with IHG and I will be filing a charge back for the first night's stay.

We were hurricane Ida evacuees looking for a safe place to spend a few days. We found this candlewood suites with an advertised price if $114/night and checked in. Upon checkout I noticed the $114/night charge was only for the first night. The other 2 nights they charged me $139.00/ night!--when I asked the clerk about it she said there was a price increase during I our stay! The managmennt of this hotel obviously lack any human ethics and intend to "screw" any and all customers who fall for their bait and switch tactics! One of the oldest tricks in the book! So if you stay at this hotel be prepared to be charged a higher price than what's advertised! Even during emergencies!-- Bring your checkbook!

Nice hotel hidden off the road. Close to the hospitals and easy drive for food and shopping. Clean and quiet, nice pool and fitness center. Rooms have kitchennets. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Fast check in and out. Good prices.
