Not good for us!

So.... my husband and I booked our stay here unfortunately for two nights, coming in for a wedding. I will take responsibility for not doing my due diligence and really checking this spot out before booking. Had I known that first, this was a pet friendly establishment and second, that the rooms would be missing certain elements, such as an iron, working phone and smoke detectors, staying here would have been out of the question! But upon crossing the threshold into the hotel should have been our first clue, though I must say, the hotel desk clerk was pleasant enough.
That elevator's cleanliness, not so good! Our reservation was for a suite with a king size bed. Okay, the suite looked okay but the door going out to the patio didn't have a curtain! We should have been okay with that....all things considered later and, in retrospect.
So I requested another room which was the absolute worst! Taking the elevator back down to the lobby, before stepping off, there was a large dog, unleashed! Not good!
The second room on the second floor must be a last resort room!! No iron, no working telephone, the furniture ....I don't wanna talk about it....other than to say....horrible! The front desk clerk was so apologetic.
I guess that missing curtain on the patio door wasn't too bad after all. But our dissatisfaction was gain for the next hotel guest, who eagerly took the first room! We were also informed that because that particular weekend, hotel rooms were at a premium in the Conyers area. But having traveled some distance and being tired, among other things, we just wanted to get some rest. My rest though was restless! Not good! Before calling it a night, my husband asked for and was given the email address and telephone number for the general manager.
Saturday morning, first stop is to the front desk for other accommodations. It was then that I informed her that the smoke detectors had the battery flaps down, no batteries which we didn't discover until that morning! Not good!The same clerk that registered us the day before and I can only imagine what she was thinking when we stopped before going into the dining room. She said there was a possibility of another room later that morning and she would let me know.
Upon entering the dining room, the hostess, Josey, if I'm remembering correctly, was friendly. My first menu item is coffee...no sugar available. Not good! Who doesn't have sugar? Then the breakfast meat selection, pork and turkey products together in the same chafing dish. Not mixed together, just together. Is that common? I did mention that maybe the two meats should be served separately. Josey was receptive to my comments and said she would relay them on to her employer.
After breakfast, the maintenance guy did come to the room and put a battery in one of the smoke detectors...one is better than none. A few hours later, the clerk knocked on our door and said there was another room available for our consideration.
That room, oh so much improved...still no iron but a working phone! The dishwasher didn't work and the chair at the desk was broken but those were a small price to pay! Oh, that's right! We did pay!
Please note that I did email the general manager, with just some of the pictures, with probably an even fuller account of our experience. As of the date of this review, I haven't received a reply. This was our first experience at a Hawthorne Suites and probably will our last. In a world of other choices, why choose here?
Good luck getting any sleep or assistance from the front desk during the night

screaming kid next door and loud partying adults that were not tending to this child. This went on till about 3am. Called the front desk numerous times and no one ever answered the phone..which explains why she looked as though she was dressed in her pajamas when we returned from dinner late that evening...guess she went to sleep while I was wide awake with extremely loud noise next door.

Dirty needs to be remodeled not worth the cost of your going to charge so much for the stay make sure it’s worth the money .waited 40 minutes to check in the elevator was sticky and dirty the hallway smelled like paint

I travel all the time and this is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in - it's undergoing a remodel and honestly it should not be open currently - I will be reporting to the BBB - I reserved a double bed room and upon arrival it was not available - they did not have any other double bed rooms so I was assigned a King room - it was not CLEAN - it was so bad! My daughter had to sleep in a chair - we drove 10 hours and this was our stop for the evening - it was 11pm so we had to make do - I would never recommend staying at this hotel

worst exp of my life. after driving for 9 hours . Checked into the room and got locked into the bedroom. Lock was broken and could not unlock the door. It took Maintenance 2 hours to come and break the door to let us out.
