It’s a shame

We have stayed at this hotel a few times , before covid and during.
It is very convenient for the tunnel and city Europe.
We stayed here twice last week . The first visit we had a room at the back which was clean and had good covid precautions in place . We were very surprised as we parked directly at the front on the hotel but was then asked to move by a policewoman As she said those spaces were for gendarmes only ! There was no indication of this and as we had possessions in the car we would have felt safer leaving the car closer to the hotel. The hotel is obviously used by the police as there was a lot of them in the dining room area.
On returning the second occasion we were given a room at the front of the hotel , ground floor .
At two am we were disturbed by a group of gendarmes shouting to each other and banging the car doors . They did this constantly for at least thirty minutes. Then again very early morning we had the same thing . Bearing in mind this is directly outside the bedroom window.
One of the reasons we use this hotel is as it’s out of town it used to be quiet, however having to do an eight hour drive on next to no sleep the following morning was not good.
I feel the hotel should either just have its merry lot of gendarmes there and no public as clearly there is zero respect for anyone from the general public staying. We will return.., when the gendarmes move out .
Great over night stop over

Staff very welcoming. Room very clean. Great shower. Tea and coffee facilities, but could have done with more. Plenty of free parking. Great location and easy to find. Great access to Eurotunnel and Cite Europe
As luck would have it

We were supposed to be booked at the hotel L’Escale in Cap Blanc Nez but someone forgot to press the confirm button on their computer! On arrival we discovered we had no booking and they were full up! After a long drive that was a shock but they helped us by reserving a twin room at this hotel, only about 3 miles down the road and 15 minutes from the Ferry Terminal; better still two minutes from Cité Europe where you can stock up on everything you need, if like us you find yourself quarantined on your return to the UK!
The hotel was simple and no frills but very clean and new looking. Our room was spacious enough with twin beds.
The only complaint which is small is the choice of wine which was limited and the evening meal, which started off well enough with Melon and Parma ham but the pork casserole was too tough for me and came with dry rice. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff were incredibly helpful with all our needs met. The sanitising of everything due to Covid was good. I would definitely stay here again as it’s so close to the Channel Tunnel and Ferry Port but hope the food and drink improves.
Convenient place for overnight stay from Eurotunnel terminal

Booked twice, once going and once returning from the same trip.
Going out, given a room the was just about fine, We had to ask for a second pillow each, and the internet was very slow, not good as it one of their main items they advertise.
Coming back, asked for a quiet room, given a room at the front, which is not. Asked for extra pillows again, not only once, or twice but three times, and only got them because we stayed by the reception. Now the internet, this was non existence, asked 3 times again, was told to keep trying.
May be my imagination, but they seemed to me to be anti-british, may be wrong but just the impression I got. Will we stay there again, NO NO NO
