1st Class Hotel.
We stayed at the hotel for two nights to attend a wedding. The hotel opened especially to cater for the guests for the wedding that had travelled from England. The hotel is in a central location & is 1st class. The room was exceptional & the staff like the hotel were very charming & smart. The breakfast was perfect with lots of choice & excellent service. A great hotel at a great price.
Average experience
We paid 230 Euro to stay for a night in the oddly-named 'Presidential Suite'. I can't honestly imagine any President staying here unless he was from a Banana Republic. Whislt the rooms were fairly spacious [the sitting room being a lot larger than the somewhat cramped bedroom], the design and layout was peculiar. I have added a picture of the sitting room, and that small black object on top of the cabinet is the TV - about 25 X 36cm. In the bedroom was another TV twice the size, sat on the dressing table, watchable only from bed, and that would have required a degree of contortionism from the occupants to get a decent view. The bathroom door opens inwards and you should remember to knock before entering or else you will do some serious damage to your partner if he or she were to be sat on the toilet, which is stationed ten cm inside the door! There were plenty of good points however, nice toiletries, a well-stocked mini-bar, and the hotel was graciously furnished in the classic style. The car parking spaces owned by the hotel in the street outside are wide enough only for a Fiat 500, but they also have spaces in a nearby secure underground car park. Nobody offered to help us with the luggage - maybe we didn't look sufficiently presidential!
Fantastic hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights and used it as a base to explore Emilia-Romagna area. We loved this hotel and strongly recommend it. The breakfast was better than the usual Italian pastries. WE actually got fruit got breakfast! The room was really nice and the bed was the most comfortable of our trip so far. Correggio is a lovely place to stay while exploring this area. There are several restaurants in walking distance of the hotel and a fantastic gelateria.
Charming Hotel, Central Location
We have a junior suite, which means there is a sofa in the room. This is actually pretty nice. Well appointed, clean. And tissues! Yay finally. Also, more than one pillow. One downer, can't sit at desk as chair is too high! Strange. Room in the mini fridge for our water. All to the good. Good amenities in the bathroom. The shower is behind the door, so you have to have the door closed to even enter the shower. Made it fun to wash shirts. Also, be aware that even though the hotel has elevators, not all rooms can be reached without some stairs. We were in room 219, which was located half-way between floor 2 and 3. No direct elevator access. Nice place, good breakfast, but nothing special. Had no trouble finding a parking spot out front. The whole town is pay parking so having designated guest parking in front is nice.
First class hotel in a beautiful city
Sadly our stay in this lovely hotel was all too short but very enjoyable. We were warmly welcomed although arriving late in the evening. Unfortunately the restaurant had closed but we were directed to a lively gastropub where the food was good and the wine excellent. Our room was spacious, beautifully furnished and the beds were so comfortable. We slept well and woke up to find a street market in progress in the arcades outside. Breakfast was included in the price and was really good. Parking was in reserved places in a secure underground car park. Check out was quick and easy.
