The staff are disgusting! The rooms are horrible and the food is beyond edible. I had a member of staff come into my room for no reason in the afternoon after my friend went out and they assumed we had left for the afternoon. However I was poorly ( probably from the food ) and in the bathroom when leaving the toilet I was shocked to find her going through my handbag! I have never been in so much disbelief! I confronted her and she ran out the room. She was wearing full uniform so I new she worked for the hotel and when I went to reception with all of my stuff because clearly I felt unsafe I was told I could not receive a refund so had to leave empty handed. The manager RENE smiled at me and told me to enjoy my stay somewhere else!! DISGUSTING! This is a big hotel run only for high end Americans and unless you are that they treat you like scum it was not enjoyable from the start and made even worse when I had to deal with this! Please save yourself and your money and stay somewhere safe! I have traveled around Mexico and various other country’s never ever have I had to deal with such!… the audacity of the staff entering my room and searching my belongings, I’m not sure what she was after but am still shook up about this! If I could give 0 stars I would!

From the staff, who genuinely care for the guests, to the clean resort, this place is our favorite resort in Cozumel. Stay away from the grouchy chef at the hamburger bar and the crabby lady at the taco bar. These 2 staff members do not reflect the rest of the staff.

I was definitely nervous about staying here but was glad to be wrong! 3 pools was great to help over crowding, the adults only pool is a must. Check in and check out was no problem for me at all, I walked up to the desk and was in/out in just a handful on minutes. Lots of activities and shows everyday to keep things exciting. The beach area is a bit on the smaller side just an FYI, but it's right there for you to walk in. Easy to get towels conveniently. Just make sure you know there is a dress code for lunch and dinner for the restaurants! Sleeves are required! They said no shorts, but I wore shorts everyday for dinner and had no issues. Be warned the bathrooms in the room are TINY. A fun trip and will definitely be back!

This is a great all inclusive hotel for the price. Food was plentiful and excellent and they serve bottled water at all the restaurants as well as supply it for your room. We enjoyed the events that we went too and the activities that were available. The service was also very good everywhere throughout the resort. The only downside was that the elevator was very slow as one elevator was being repaired in our building.

Grand Park Royal disappointment

We stayed for five nights as a family vacation, despite having stayed before and having had a bad experience, we wanted to give it a second chance. We booked two rooms for the family which weren’t ready upon arrival, they gave us one around 4 pm and the other two hours later. Facilities are decent and they keep common areas very clean. There was an elevator out of service and a single one was not enough, we had to wait several times either to go up or down. Rooms are old, our door didn’t properly work and got stuck, although it was repaired quickly when reported. Room was serviced regularly and on time. Water didn’t drained properly in the shower and sink (pic) Food variety at buffet restaurant Veranda is limited and recycled, breakfast is decent though. Specialty restaurants lack a reservation system, it works on a first come first serve basis and not all dishes on menu are available. Food is better than the buffet. Beverages are low quality with a very small selection of mid quality liquors, beer tastes as if it was diluted. Personnel attitude sometimes very negative, they tend to say no instead of offering options. It seems that overall the hotel is understaffed and waiters and service personnel are already burned out. Marcelino at the pool bar stands out from the rest as he’s very attentive, always willing to please his guests. Beach is tiny but offers great snorkeling opportunities, if you’re Scuba diving, the hotel offers no pier to pick you up, you have to pay the dive shop next door to use theirs. Night shows are good, worth mentioning the water and fire shows. We witnessed an incident at the pool where there was a fight among some guests and security personnel did nothing but watch the fight. There were families with children around and the men fighting were throwing chairs. On our last night at the hotel there was a water leak nearby, room got flooded. (pic) Would I give Grand Park Royal a third chance? Definitely no. This experience just confirmed that service has not improved over the years. They have a mistaken concept of “Luxury Resorts”. I would look for a better place to put my money. In a word, disappointing.
