Wedding and stay over
Reviewed 17 march, 2022
We got married here 19th February. It was amazing, from the moment we arrived on the Friday to the moment we left on the Sunday after Sunday dinner it was just a dream! Friday our 38 guests arrived, we all was catered for beautiful, food was delicious, everyone commented on how beautiful the food was! Saturday the wedding was beautifully Orchestrated, the wedding coordinator Phoebe was behind the scenes running everything so smoothly and well. Food was superb as well as the service ! Everyone had the best time. Sunday everyone left but us the newly married couple sat in front of the fire eating our gorgeous Sunday lunch drinking red wine. All the rooms were gorgeous and our wedding suit was perfect and a good size to get my bridesmaids and myself ready for the big day. While I was getting ready and unable to leave the room the service I had by Nick was Impeccable and so attentive, coffee and breakfast was brought to my room and every need met throughout the day. Thank you

Breakfast let down
Reviewed 7 march, 2022
Stayed over night on way to Cornwall. Room small but bed comfy. En suite small but clean. We ate diner in the evening which was very tasty, enjoyable and plentiful. Had to pay extra for breakfast with only continental option. What a letdown. terrible fruit, croissants from the freezer couple slices toast. Was also advertised as £7.95 on web site but charged £9.95. Not worth it, Think they didn't want to employ a cook for the mornings so this was an easy option.

Nice cosy country stay
Reviewed 5 february, 2022
Very nice and cosy little country Inn. Rooms were a little on the small side but nice comfortable beds and modern deco. Food from the bar was delicious never had one bad meal out off four. Log fire in the bar was a nice touch at morning breakfast and at dinner times.

We have stayed at The Lamb around 3 times now. Room 4 is my favourite. It’s clean and comfortable (lovely bath), comfy bed. All the staff are delightful. The food is exceptional, I could not fault it one bit. Lovely wine list with vegan options noted (yay). This to me is just the perfect pub. What I love most about The Lamb is the knowledge that you will never have a bad meal here, it’s always perfect. I’m sure we will keep coming back time and time again.

NO COOKED BREAKFAST!!
Reviewed 30 august, 2021
We cannot recommend this place, very disappointed particularly as it is seriously overpriced. We stayed for for 2 nights in July and requested a room with a king size bed. It may be that the other rooms are more modern and better equipped but ours, although large was characterless and the bathroom tiny. The mixer tap did not work properly. For this we were charged £104 per night. Breakfast was extra and is described as "Continental" meaning cereal, a couple of croissants and toast (sourdough, of which more later). £7..95 per person making it £120 per night. No apologies for the lack of a cooked breakfast. We have just come back from a country inn in Norfolk and bed and cooked breakfast for 2 per night was £70. No comparison.. Devon seems to have a special cachet so it can charge silly prices. On one night six of us had a meal in the restaurant. where prices were reasonable but guess what? No starters, unless you consider a plate of olives or sourdough bread a starter. Is it not possible to avoid sourdough bread anywhere these days? A very strange mains menu was generally well received without being particularly outstanding except for the beef and brisket hamburger. Not necessarily a crime against humanity but a serious catering misjudgement. Drinks are reasonably priced but the best we can say is that it was an ok meal, nothing more, nothing less. Up until two years ago The Lamb was a genuine gastropub. Not any more.
