I would like to thank Melville for issuing our group a refund even though our booking was non-refundable. We were coming from the US and with Covid, our trip was cancelled. Other hotels were not as understanding . . .
Cancelled Event
Had a wedding booked here. Unfortunately the property has now closed. We managed to source another equally good place called Shieldhill Castle. They are just about to open and have an open book for 2021. I strongly recommend that you contact them if you have been let down. They could not do enough to accommodate the booking and were extremely helpful.
Wedding review
We had our wedding at Melville castle in October 2019. Fiona, our coordinator, was amazing. She was frequently in contact in the run up to the wedding and my morning getting ready was completely stress free. The day ran very smoothly and all our guests seemed to have a great day!
Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting
Stopped at the beautiful Melville castle hotel as a last minute get away, we was due to fly to Gran Canaria but with the current situation we couldn’t!! And I must say the hotel is gorgeous, the setting is gorgeous and the food is to die for!! Lovely comfortable beds and nice big rooms!! Highly recommended!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful Castle
The entrance had that Wow factor with lots of character which was lovely. All staff were very smartly dressed and polite and helpful albeit we did have to wait on a few occasions before being served at the bar, there was a bell to grab the teams attention but that was the only downfall. Not a complaint just an observation. We upgraded to a Superior double which was lovely, bed extremely comfortable and we had 2 pillows both different grades of firmness which was good. The bathroom was rather basic for a superior room albeit it was spotlessly clean so again just an observation. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and piping hot. Service was good and our waitress was superb, attention to detail was perfect thankyou. All in all we had a lovely stay, very relaxing just what we wanted. We would come back again
