Like the Wild West but modern

Gold Dust was comfortable and decorated to evoke a feeling of the old wild west. The rooms were comfortable and modern. The hotel was on the main drag of Old Deadwood, with casinos, restaurants and souvenir shops just around the corner. Parking was a premium in Deadwood and the parking lot for the hotel was a couple of blocks away.

Basic room, with a very soft bed and uncomfortable pillows. Location was walkable to everything and there was a parking lot nearby. Breakfast was do-it-yourself, though the pancake machine was unique and made good pancakes. The $15 for $20 of food at Maverick’s was a great deal, as we had ribs there.

Front Desk Manager is very rude!!

Have always enjoyed staying at this location in past and would have liked to leave better review but front desk manager is very rude which has ruined our liking of this hotel. Good customer service is very important to us. Maybe after a change in the management we will consider them again.

A Good Hotel That Could Be Great

Overall, we had a very nice stay. Yes, the location is supurb and unlike other guests, we did not have a problem with outside noise. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is surprisingly good and the lobby is bright and light for overflow. It just misses being a remarkable hotel because of minor maintenance. Our window shade was broken and we asked for it to be fixed, but no. A decorative shelf had fallen off the wall and left a blank space on the wallpaper - doesn't look good. If they would take care of these little things, they would have a first-class place. The little stuff is the difference between good and great.

Let me start out the manager came and what a wonderful women. She helped us park our boat free for our stay there. There were 3 carts to put gear on so great. We had second floor and very quiet. Even over the 4th The downtown shows were easily out your door. Very helpful at desk. Breakfast was cold but pancakes were very gd and no clean up. Plenty of pastry. Only wish I could have made toast No toaster. Park right up to unload and load. Took 10mn. Stayed 3 days and also..Gave you coupins for the big casino and food. It was amazing food. We had a great time. Highly recommend hotel
