We were recognized immediately during Check-in. It was no problem that our guest could have breakfast with us. There was a small gym available. The personnel was friendly and helpful. The hotel was easy to find. Free parking.
Basic Motel Lacking Basic Respect

The quick: Was it clean? Yes. Was it worth the extra money over the other nearby cheaper hotels? No. If you just need a clean place to lay your head and need help deciding if it's worth it to pay more for the Country Inn. Nope. We were staying 3 nights this time and I wanted something nicer (we travel to see family in Decatur often and have stayed in the Ramada, Comfort, and Sleep Inn when there for quick 1 or 2 night stays). The beds were hard, flat and immovable, similar to sleeping atop of blankets on the floor. The towels that I had to nearly beg the front desk clerk for were thin and scruffy. Same basic hotel as the others just prettier paint and less friendly overnight staff. The long story: Due to Covid restrictions we were advised by the front desk that we would need to request room cleaning and could pick up towels from the front desk if cleaning was not requested. My family did not request for a cleaning so when I went to the front desk to ask for clean towels (as directed by the instructions printed and placed at the front desk and read to me by the check-in clerk) there was no one there. It was after 11 PM, but there was no sign about ringing a bell, calling a number, or looking in a different area for late night staff. I looked around and called out to see if someone was in the back office. I got the response "Hold on". I could handle that, but the attitude upon her final arrival was the problem. I asked for towels and she told me to "hold on" again and went to the back. She came back with two dry off towels and washcloths. I explained that I need a full set because we did not have room cleaning. She told me that was all of the clean towels that they had. I returned in the morning before the end of her shift assuming that she would have prepared towels by then. I was in luck because she had washed towels, but I could only have one because she was only allowed to give 3 towels. What? I have a double room with 4 people but I am only allowed three towels? That didn't make any sense whatsoever, but instead apologizing and pointing to posted or written policy (which there is none) she dismissed me by walking away as though I wasnt even there looking dumbfounded and wondering. Can I buy my own towels? Yes. Did I expect that there would be a time limit on courtesy, when I could request towels, and how many towels I could request? No. She looked at me like I was taking her personal towels and skating on them or something. Then the last night of our stay, the same clerk was there and we needed a key to the roomno where to be found. The phone rang repeatedly with no one answering or coming to the front after calling out. Nearly an hour later we were able to get a key and get in. She had the same lackluster unwelcoming attitude as the night before. I dont make a habit of spending my money where I'm not valued or appreciated. Her rank attitude and lack of regard for not being able produce the basic necessities generally provided by a motel was totally out of line with service industry standards and expectations. It was totally out of line with the common standard of care and interest for a person who is in search of something needed that is vital to their day. To make it worse, we were in town for a funeral, and along with the added stress of trying to both mentally and emotionally prepare for the service, we now needed to figure out how to physically prepare our bodies without the proper tools. No smiles with greetings, no apologies for not having what was needed. No sense of urgency to correct the problem, not even a glance back to see if I was still standing at the counter trying to figure out how I was going everything together in time. Horrible! But again, if you know that won't need to talk to staff much or need anything outside of a muffin for breakfast, you should be good.
Bed bugs in room 222. Painful and disgusting!
Reviewed 2 march, 2021
In our 2 nights stay at this hotel, I got itching on the first morning after I woke up but ignored as I had. 9 hour exam in the town so couldn't afford to get bothered by that. But the next morning I woke up I had more intense itching, I checked out shortly, reached home and saw red bumps all over my torso neck and both elbows. Attaching the pictures here. I am a doctor myself, so I could instantly recognise that they were bed bug bites. And even 5 days after the exposure today I still have intensely itching red bumps on my body which constantly bothers my work and activities. This was the worst experience of a hotel stay of my life. Extremely unacceptable and utterly disgusting health hazard on the customers on the management's part. Disappointed and angry at the hotel management and owners for being careless about this , especially considering that I see here reviews on bed bugs problem in 2020 May, so they know about this but haven't done anything to make it safe. By the way it was room 222 upstairs the first bed in the room which I used and got the bed bug bites. This left me scared for future stay at any hotel.
Nice staff, comfy and clean rooms

I stayed here for a business trip and my experience was very nice. The staff was quick and efficient at the check-in and check-out process. My room was very clean and comfortable. Even with the coronavirus circumstances, I still had an enjoyable stay because of how clean and neat everything was. I’m very glad I stayed here and I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.

I got awakened at 7 something in morning by getting bitten by a bed bug. After about the 3rd time my sleep got disturbed by getting bitten, I woke completely up and turned on the lights. When I pulled back the covers there was a bug. I took pictures and a video of it, I then googled images of bed bugs and it matched the bug on the cover. I then called the front desk and told them my issue and asked the attendant to come up to see for himself. Once the attendant saw it, he agreed that it was a bed bug and removed it with a piece of tissue. I informed him that I would be checking out immediately and didn't want to stay until check out time. I told him that it was important that he have a manager call me asap about this situation. He said definitely. I then went to the front desk to check out and I was greeted by a lady attendant now. I expressed the same thing to her about having a manager call me. That was a Sunday, I called back Monday, still no response back to me. So I gave them a little over a week and still no response or call back at all. So this week on the 8th day I wrote a review on the country inn and suites website, I checked back today to see if someone had responded, and I could not find my review on there anymore. So now I decided to write one on here to make sure it doesn't get deleted. This is now the 12th day. I have been a member with this hotel chain for many many years and this is the treatment I get. This ordeal makes me so nervous to ever stay at this hotel again!
