First thing is, the staff was incredibly friendly in the hotel and the proshop. They were very welcoming, friendly and helpfiul. The views, grounds. outdoor patio near Roy's, and the golf course were all spectacular. It might seem obvious, but it really is a one of a kind experience just being in that place. Played the amazing course twice and it is just that amazing, with spectacular views on every hole and outstanding condititon. Be prepared to just have fun and enjoy, it's tough with fair but difficult greens Also, Roy's as always was fantastic, for both lunch and dinner. On the other hand: For the very expensive price tag, the room, other than the spectacular view, was very mediocre. While large with a nice fireplace, the furnishings seemed worn and the bed was not really comfortable. The bathroom was below average, somewhat small and disjointed with the shower, regular tub and "prep" areas all in different corners, knooks (the small shower with small head feels kinda like a closet), and the sheets/ comforter were just ok. Lastly, the pay Movie selection was really, really bad. One of the evenings, my birthday on Oct 6th, we sat at a high top table near the outside bar on the pation to enjoy the sunset. So we sat there, and sat there, and sat there while the waitress for that area walked by, looked at us several times and didn't smile, greet us, acknowledge our existance, or take our order. I finally got up and ordered from the bar. 1 Lemon Drop, 1 Arnold Palmer for $31 and the Arnold Palmer of all things was not well made or correctly with very poor taste (on a Golf Course)....ironic. AND the lemon drop was made with mix. Really....for $31 with tip not included? BIG bummer. Last but not least, the secoond night we ate at Peppoli's after I told my wife about the great dinners I had there, and she was excited. First, her lemon drop (again made with mix) which I ordered as usual "on the rocks, sugar on the rim, Belvedere vodka, surprised her with nasty and unexpected salt on the rim and my Arnold Palmer was just the same as the night before>>>really bad. It's a golf course bar and restaurant......for god's sake learn how to make an Aronld Palmer. Ironic yet sad. We always share dinners, salads and apps. My wife's ceasar was flat out gross with a strange taste. My guess is that the dressing was made with Miracle Whip mayo, but was also super lemony. So an odd and sweet and sour combo. My steak was great meat, well seasoned filet, but medium rare was definately rare (which I can enjoy but my wife can't stand), so my wife couldn't, didn't want to share. Another expensive disappointment. So, next time back, we'll resort to our tried and true Monterey vacation plan. Stay at a very nice hotel like the Plaza or a nice B&B, eat at great restaurants, maybe Roy's once, play the course of our choosing and walk on the beach or around Spanish on the trails and get better/ great quality for MUCH less.
Can't go wrong staying here

Stayed here for a few nights on our first time in Pebble Beach. The property is new, clean, and beautiful. We had an ocean view room. The room is very spacious with a modern bathroom, fireplace, and fantastic view. The room also had a balcony where we could sit and enjoy morning coffee. The property itself is sprawling and enjoyable even if you are not a golfer. This is superior to the Lodge at Pebble Beach for non-golfers. There are far fewer day visitors and the entire experience feels more private. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. No complaints
Great room, great service

We recently stayed at Spanish Bay for a golf outing. Large, comfortable room with a porch sitting area. Our room was a ways from the front desk but there were short cuts to the parking lot. Would defintely return.

First time here and it did not disappoint. The rooms were large, very clean and well appointed. They even provided complimentary snacks and water. From the moment you arrive, the staff is ever present, not hovering but ready to help. Complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning. Just steps outside their door are several shops. Sticks is an on site restaurant. Food is good and reasonable.
Our Favorite Resort

We have stayed at other resorts in the Pebble Beach area. However, the Inn at Spanish Bay is our favorite. It is the perfect balance of casual and elegance. This is golfers' paradise and even if you don't golf there are plenty of things to do. The service is sincere. They truly want their guests to have a wonderful stay. They don't have the canned, scripted, corporate statements they recite to their guests. Each guest is greeted as though we we are the only people on the property although we know we are not. I can't help but wonder if people who have had a negative experience here did not bring it on themselves????
