Right downtown, clean and comfortable place to stay

Good: right downtown, short walking distance to shops and restaurants, comfortable beds, overall very clean hotel, rooms are spacious, lots of seating in lobby area, outdoor patio on the ground floor with lots of seating directly on the Main Street, pretty views from my room (3rd floor), nice little bistro open for breakfast and dinner with Starbucks coffee!
Not so good: no free breakfast, the room was laid out weird with the tv against the wall next to the bed so it was kind of difficult to relax on the bed and watch tv
NO service toremone trash, make bed, no towels? Why am I paying full price?

I think this is the new way for a Marriott to make money, charge the same rate but cut out services! Halls
stink floors dirty. "Ran Out of towels" we were not = told at check in that there would be nohousekeeping and it isn’t mentioned on the website that you have to stay for 4 nights to get room cleaned . So people leave garbage in the hallway.. told to come down to get towels but my husband and I are handicapped and can’t do that. Wouldn’t matter cause they ran out!! Offered me free breakfast which would mean standing in linge for 20 minutes ...Stetson housed students here last year this franchise is owned and operated by thieves, road noise from our room went on all night. If you are dumb enough to stay here get a room in the back.I’d suggest trying Sanford a 30 minute car ride more choices then the Marriott monopoly here. The boutique down the street seems improved based on reviews maybe try it.

My family spent five days here and were very satisfied. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel, including close to the front door. The lobby is very nice with plenty of seating, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast is not included, but there is a bistro on the main floor that serves a limited menu, such as muffins and pastries, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, avocado toast, and a few other things. Prices at the bistro were slightly high, but not beyond what you would expect at a hotel restaurant. Plenty of tables and work spaces with power outlets. The rooms were very clean. The swimming pool was nice with a waterfall. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves, and a few times we did have to share with another group. Even when we shared, there was plenty of room, but I think if a third group had shown up, it would not have been as enjoyable. We used the Wi-Fi Internet quite a bit while we were there, including Zoom calls for work, and it was sufficient. There were one or two limited instances where it seem to cut out, but overall it was more than sufficient for a typical hotel experience. The best part of the hotel was the location, situated equally between Stetson University two blocks in one direction, and the historic downtown area of DeLand one block the other way. The historic downtown section is about five blocks along Woodland Avenue and contains numerous restaurants, specialty shops, an escape room, etc. From our homebase at the hotel, we were just a short walk to anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again.

I stay at Marriott hotels about 70 times a year. I had a early check in of 12:15 and upon arrival at 12:30 they told me that I cannot get into my room until 3:00. Poor communication. You would think that this is a motel 6. Also the bistro is closed because of under staffing which is not listed on the website. You would think that especially this time of year when they are pretty much booked solid that they would pay there workers better to get more employees wanting to work there

I’ve never seen a hotel quite like this. Our room smelled so bad that we had to have them bring the ozone machine and clean the bathroom. Nobody ever checked with us or asked if everything was ok. Nobody ever at the front desk. Nobody anywhere. I’m Marriott titanium so I’ve stayed in many hotels. This one, sadly to say is not up to Marriott standards. I’m sure it is run by college kids with no manager. Good location.
