Traveling for Thanksgiving and had to take what was available. Room was spartan in the extreme - no lamps! - just overhead can lights giving the room all the ambience of a DMV waiting area. Watch out for the bugs! No breakfast although I doubt I would have eaten anything had it been available. Several sketchy characters lurking around the parking lot. $150 a night was about two-thirds too high for this dump.

Not the best not the worst

My wife and I stayed the Friday and Saturday before Spring Break. We arrived around 10:30 pm, and had no problem getting checked in. The gentleman that was working that night was very polite. I read some reviews and took them with a gain of salt since a lot of people will complain about anything. I read about problems with roaches and shady people. With the understanding that Louisiana is below Sea Level bugs are somewhat more difficult to deal with and upon entering the room I saw a single German roach, other than that one nothing. We had the Double Superior King bed, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, the comforter had burn holes and bleach stains. The pillows were honestly a joke, they were completely flat offering absolutely no support. The dish would go out every so often and stay out for several minutes making it hard to watch anything, there were channels that were blocked like cartoons which made no since. In the bathroom the shower had broken tile. I’m normally not one to complain, having worked in the service industry I know some things are out of people’s control but most if not all of what I said can be controlled.

Roaches among other things

Biggest issue was a germany roach at the entryway. Night clerk was friendly and helpful. It appears that several rooms are occupied on a long term basis and several sketchy groups were noted. Upon entering the door was difficult to properly latch. The bed did not fit the frame properly. The refrigerator was not the cleanest. The bathroom ceiling has pealing paint and the shower curtain is stained. Definitely not the quietest hotel but most noise died down about 11.

Laine Hardy's Homecoming Bash

We came in for Laine Hardy's Homecoming Bash. The room was very nice, clean, and cool. Friendly staff. If I had to pick one down side the breakfast didn't have any meat and being from Tennessee we like meat with our breakfast.

Recently VERY substantially renovated!

I used to stay at this facility often when it was Best Western several years ago, and a few times after the brand change. Months after the flood 3 + years ago, it was nasty. It seems they might have just let it dry and left it that way. My recent stay there was after a 2+ year absence. I booked it this past Friday for the first time in a long time. IT WAS NIGHT AND DAY BETTER! The room was completely renovated, modern, comfortable and had all amenities you could want. It was a very pleasant surprise based on my last stay a couple years ago. It was also very competitively priced. I highly recommend this hotel, and it will be my "regular" when I'm in that neighborhood.
