Yes the hotel is dated. The rooms are big so that was a plus. Thought it was a decent deal for a family stay. Liked the game room options and the pool is big with indoor/outdoor option. They were out of pool towels though in early afternoon so you may have to grab some from front desk. Breakfast bar had some good hot options. Plane in the front was definitely unique. If you want to try a place that is a little off the wall give it a try.
What you see, is NOT always what you get.

Upon arrival, we were greated friendly and taken care of right away. We stayed in the fantasy suit "Ceaser's Court 1". The room was on the 2nd floor, and there is no elevator anywhere in the hotel. The room was absolutely beautiful. But what you see, isnt always what you get. The bed was hard, and uncomfortable. After a few minutes of laying down, the mattress sagged, BAD. The 2 chairs were uncomfortable as well. The cushions were worn and flat. There was a mini fridge in the room, but the freezer section was blocked up with ice. There was no microwave in the room. The hot tub was nice, but the jets were covered in mold. The shower had nice water pressure, but also had mold all over it. (See pictures). The pool was a good size, and clean. The nice thing i hadn't seen before, was that they provided several pool toys for both adults and kids. The continental breakfast was a little less than average. But it nice to actually have breakfast for the first time since covid began. There is a game area upstairs, with a ping pong table and a pool table. They were doing some renovations, which made the hallways fill with smoke, and an aweful smell, kind of like burning fiberglass. I gave it 3 stars, because i wont give it a bad rating, from one experience. We WILL come back and try a different room. But for this room, and a one night, first stay. It kind of sucked!
Interesting place to stay

The themed rooms are interesting; dated and kitschy but that's what you should expect from such a place. It is clean and fairly well maintained despite being a bit aged. The airplane outside is a hoot to climb around in & around. The breakfast bar is great! The service was pretty good. Our biggest disappointment was that an adjacent guest room was smoking dope every 20-30 minutes so our room wreaked every time they were imbibing. That alone was enough for me to not stay again. It is however very conveniently located if you are going to The House On The Rock.

Got a room specifically for the huge copper tub. See a sign at check in, "No bath bombs/bath accents of any kind or $100 cleaning fee will be charged." Such a let down! And the tub drain didn't completely seal, so we had to periodically refill which was annoying. The continental breakfast was just barely adequate, and not restocked often enough. I would not stay here again.

This hotel is so cool. Im glad we made the 12 hour drive up. The owners are new and are making updates and fixing it up. The rooms are beautiful and creative. The staff was always more then accommodating and our housekeeper was always on point.
