Beautiful Resort, Excellent Staff

When you walk into Diu Wak Resort it's like walking into an oasis of greenery, birds and beautiful pool waterfall. The stafff is very helpful, the food in the restaurant is excellent. We have stayed here 12 years in a row, so obviously, it's a wonderful resort. I would recommend it to anyone.

Avoid at all costs!

I can't believe some of the good reviews about this property. I wold give it less than zero stars if I could. It is an absolute dump. Dirty, moldy, plastic sheets...I could go on and on. Our first room was flooded from the A/C so they offered to put me and my husband in two separate rooms with twin beds. Obviously we wanted to stay together so declined that offer. After much discussion with the teenage kid who was working at the front desk, we 'upgraded' (at a cost of $50 extra per night) to a room that was barely functional. No hot water, the shower head release valve exploded-drenching everything-and then the toilet backed up. Again, worthless kid at the front desk could care less and we had to argue to move to another "upgraded room'. We asked that the hotel at least give us a refund of the $50 upgrade charge for the first night and teenage clerk said "my boss doesn't like to do that". Well, I don't like to schlep my bags around from one moldy room to the next either. Unbelievably bad service, gross rooms and a total rip off. Do yourself a favor and stay at the newly remodeled Tribe hotel up the street. Lovely rooms and staff that seems to give a sh*t about their guests. Domincal is a cool town with a great brewery and terrific Thai food at Phat Noodle but I wouldn't stay at the Hotel Diuwak if it was the last place on earth.

Excellent service/Beautiful Grounds

We have been staying at this hotel for 8 years and got married there on the beach. The staff made our visits so enjoyable. They are very helpful and pleasant people. The breakfast is excellent, and free! The pool is great with a waterfall. Definitely going back. We were there from Dec. 2020 until late February, 2021. Very Covid aware with wash station with soap and masks required.

Return Visitor of Many Years

This time at Diuwak has been beyond terrible. The water has been off over half of the time. What’s worse is the front desk has been coached in how to lie to the patrons. I have been here four days and have been given one lame excuse after another as to why the water doesn’t work. Today the office clerk said “No really it’s the kitchen let me show you”. As if that mattered for all the other times. The place is not what was. In my opinion they don’t give a damn about their service but will still charge top dollar for crappy accommodations. Look elsewhere. This place is doomed.

This is our 5 stay at the Diuwak. It’s always consistent, ok rooms, typical worn beds, tiny parking spaces and if the places is full creative parking. The grounds and pool are beautiful but, at times a hint of sewer gas as the sewers are not open but grated and all the units flow to common sewers. This is worse in dry season as not as much water is flowing through. Breakfast is nice with a typical fare of beans, rice, eggs, and fruit. I will return as overall I like the Hotel and it’s staff it is a very safe and secure location close to the beach and town.
