This property is outstanding and great value in the pockets including if you have children. I came to check-in with my wife and children it was a long drive. Overall the hotel had everything we needed. The check-in process was so crazy but Mr. Frances at the front desk was amazingly helpful. I made my reservation with Priceline.com and unfortunately we prepaid my room, when I arrived to check-in it was late and I was told that I didn't have a reservation at this facility. Come to find out my wife booked the wrong hotel I called Priceline to try and get our money back and they were very unwilling to refund me. Mr. Frances was absolutely outstanding I have no words to express my gratitude to this gentleman. I tried so hard to get our money back nothing worked having 4 kids and my wife at two in the morning with no room or refund was a definite bummer. Frances personally called the other hotel that we mistakenly booked at and begged to get our reservation refunded without surcharges. He explained our situation to the hotel manager by the grace of god the hotel agreed to cancel that reservation without fees. then Frances stayed on the phone for an hour and twenty seven minutes with Priceline customer service before Priceline agreed to give us our funds back. I want to express my gratitude again to this gentleman we came down to Miami from Oregon so my wife could have her radiation treatment for her stage four breast cancer diagnosis. This booking was an honest mistake in a rush to get here to Miami but GOD IS GOOD. After all Frances did for us she got us checked in at your property and from there it was cloud nine everything from the breakfast to the amenities to the rooms and the staff were marvelous. This gentleman needs to be commended for all his patience and hard work he provided to us that night. Thank you so much Frances we will be back again very soon and when we do we hope to see you again in a better situation GOD BLESS YOU SIR hugs from the Waterford family.

Incredible! Marriott should take a good look at this property and how beautifully it's being managed. In a perfect world, Marriott HQ would invest the time and money to cross train sister properties based off this hotel's structure. The buildings exterior is gorgeous, and offers guests safety amongst it's multiple entrances (key card required), a family friendly "sport court" which I thought was pretty cool, a large outdoor swimming pool/spa, fire pit, outdoor bar, and plenty of seating / lounge options. A great place to hang on a sunny Florida day. The interior, equally impressive offers guests: a laundry area, a gym, a restaurant / dining area, and Marriott's market place, and of course some very beautiful common areas. Shout out to management for keeping this Marketplace fully stocked! I have been to several locations where the stock was unacceptably low. Being that this is an all suite properly you can count on the room you pick to be gorgeous. My room had everything I needed for a great trip, and when I had an odd request, guest services made it happen, with ease. They even went as far as to follow up with my via phone to confirm I was satisfied and ask if there was anything else I'd need. I am a big believer in giving credit when it is due, and I'd really like to acknowledge employee Neph. She is silver service material and I genuinely hope this message is read by someone high up in Marriott because I have never had such a fantastic experience with a Marriott employee, as I had with Neph! Earlier, I mentioned that in a perfect world Marriott would cross train it's sister properties to perform as well as this one. Well, assuming one day Marriott did this, I could not think of a better person to lead that operation than Neph! If all Marriott employees were performing as well & giving such amazing customer service as Neph does, it's rivals would certainly have a lot to worry about... They'd have no choice but to watch Marriott elevate itself to new levels, leaving them far behind. I'm hoping to see it happen soon! Overall, I'd highly recommend the Residence Inn of Miami West. I simply cannot imagine a person leaving here disatisfied. Hope this helps !

I made a reservation on Nov. 6 for a suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. I was travelling with my wife and 2 teenage kids. I only needed a room for one night in Miami as I was driving to Orlando the next day. While at the airport that day I received an email from the Residence Inn about my reservation. I didn't read it at the time as it looked to just be standard check-in information. I discovered later that the hotel realized that morning that they were over-booked. They changed my original reservation at Marriott ( the hotel is owned by DHM Hotels, not Marriott ) to a King Suite and then made a second reservation in my name for a second King Suite with a charge of $92. I was not told until I arrived at the hotel at 9pm that there was a problem. I decided to just take the 2 rooms since it did not appear to be costing me any more than my original reservation. I took the keys and went out to dinner before going to the rooms. At dinner I noticed that my original confirmation email and the second email were 2 different reservations. I called the desk clerk from the restaurant and asked how much I was being charged for the 2 rooms. It took him 10 minutes to determine that I was not being charged the same $192 from the original reservation. I wasn't happy about it the situation at this point, but it was late and it was just for one night. When I arrived back at the hotel and went into the rooms, I noticed that one room smelled like cigarette smoke. I couldn't tolerate that. I went down to the front desk and demanded that they call the manager. Instead they called the assistant manager whose attitude was basically "nothing I can do." I ended up having my entire family sleep in the one room. Overall the experience was a nightmare. The hotel knew they could not honor the reservation by noon. Instead of calling me and giving me a opportunity to make other arrangements, they tried to cover this up by changing my initial reservation and then making it appear as if I made a second reservation. They can deny all they want there was an attempted coverup. However, Marriott confirmed that somebody changed my initial reservation from a dual queen suite with a sofa bed and 4 people to a king suite with a sofa bed and 1 person. The hotel tried to make this right by not billing me for either of the rooms plus giving me 5000 points on my Marriott account. I told them that I don't want any freebies. I want to pay for the room used and just be done with them. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I noticed that the rooms are not that clean and the staff seem to have a "don't care" attitude. I don't blame the staff, I blame the management. Other issues I noticed include lack of bedding for the sofa bed, 2 towels for a room for 4 people, and inconsistent kitchen items. The manager of the hotel asked that I give them another opportunity to serve me on my next visit to Miami. However, as I explained to him, he has made no indication that there are plans to fix any of the problems. He doesn't even assume responsibility for the over-booking of rooms. Instead they treat that as something that happens to them that is beyond their control. I don't need the grief. Never dealing with DHM hotels again.

This is a wonderful hotel breakfast was great and the staff so friendly. My children loved the basketball court and the rooms were very spacious. Our family has never traveled to Miami together but this hotel catered to the essentials of our needs. Tye was very sweet and Frances was outstanding with all our needs late night. Frances was very catering and patient with us and our children and went above and beyond. Parking is limited at night and not well lit and the lobby bathrooms had dirt and were disgusting. More positive then negative though.

Neph provide Outstanding and excellent service. Communication was great. The rooms were great and very relaxing. My only fault was I did not stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities. Very comfortable bed and accommodation.
